Rune Engraving is a new system in Wow Season of Discovery that allows players to use skills added in future DLCs. It brings a lot of excitement and changes to the gameplay of WoW Classic Vanilla.

Nothing is more remarkable for Palandin players than having access to some of the future DLC skills in the early game. We can combine these new runes in-game to create a new Palandin Build, with a total of 24 runes available so far. This opens up endless possibilities and promises an exhilarating experience.

This article will provide detailed information on the 6 runes for Palandin and where or how to obtain them. We will keep updating this page with more details about the Palandin Runes and their locations as they become available.

WoW SoD Phase 2 Palandin runes - Engrave Belt - Enlightened Judgements rune

Rune Effect: Increases the range on your Judgement by 30 yards and your spell hit with all spells by 17%.

Rune Location: Collect three

Tarnished Prayer Beads

, purify them, and turn them into

Divine Prayer Beads

. After that, you must give them to

Brother Atticus

, who can be found in Stromgarde Keep, Arathi Highlands. He is located over the bridge leading to the First Aid book vendor, Deneb Walker, at around (27.0 58.8).

1. Tarnished Prayer Bead I: You can get this by defeating various humanoid mobs, such as Syndicate rogues, Witherbark Medicine Men, various Dark Iron Dwarves, and various Boulderfist Ogres. Once you have it, you must cast Blessing of Might and kill an enemy to purify it.

2. Tarnished Prayer Bead II: You can obtain this by defeating Boulderfist Ogres or other mobs. To purify it, you must cast Divine Shield when your health is less than 10%.

3. Tarnished Prayer Bead III: You can get this by defeating Witherbark Shadow Hunter. To purify it, you need to use the Seal of Justice and cast Judgement on a fleeing enemy to purify it.

WoW SoD Phase 2 Palandin runes - Engrave Belt - Infusion of Light rune

Rune Effect: Increases the damage done by your Holy Shock by 20%, and your damaging critical strikes with Holy Shock reset the cooldowns on Holy Shock and Exorcism and refund the cost of Holy Shock.

Rune Location: Travel to Deadwind Pass and meet with the

Dalaran Agent located at Ariden's Camp (52, 35)

. The agent will provide you with

Ariden's Sigil

. Once you have it, equip the Sigil or team up with another player who has it equipped. You will then need to use the Sigil to

Reveal Dark Rider

and hunt down 7 Dark Rider Elites. Killing the Elites while having the Sigil equipped will reward you with different

Dalaran Relics

. Keep your eyes open for the

Dark Presence buff

, which indicates that a Dark Rider Elite is nearby.

The Dark Riders can be found at different locations across the following areas:

Deadwind Pass (43, 29), Duskwood (23, 47), Swamp of Sorrows (69, 28), Arathi Highlands (60, 40), Badlands (58, 54), The Barrens (52, 36), and Desolace (65, 25).

Once you have obtained all 7 Dalaran Relics,

return to the Dalaran Agent

and turn in each reward quest for experience points and some silver. When you have returned all 7 relics, you will receive Infusion of Light Rune as a final reward.

Phase 2 Palandin runes - Engrave Belt - Sheath of Light rune

Rune Effect: Dealing damage with your melee weapon increases your spell power by an amount equal to 30% of your attack power for 1 min. In addition, your critical healing spells heal the target for 60% of the healed amount over 12 sec.

Rune Location: First, you must find a

broken hammer

on the ground in

Mannoroc Cove, Desolace (52.6, 84.8),

and pick up The Broken Hammer quest. You must defeat

Burning Blade Summoners

in the area to get the

Torn Letter

required for the quest. Once you have it, head to the

Stormwind Cathedral

and speak to

Katherine the Pure (37.8, 31.6)

to turn in the quest. Listen to what she says about the hammer in the follow-up quest - "A Lost Brother." After that, go to

Menethil Harbor in Wetlands

and find

Harold Riggs

on the docks. He will direct you to

Newman's Landing (18.0, 74.5) in Dun Morogh

. To reach it, swim south from Wetlands along the coast until you reach the docks and look for the body of a fallen crusader. You may face some ambushers on your way, so be prepared to defeat them. Once you reach

Newman's Landing

, pick up Orders from the

Grand Crusader

and accept the next quest, Orders from the Grand Crusader. This will take you back to Stormwind and Katherine the Pure. Finally, enter the

Scarlet Monastery Cathedral

and defeat

High Inquisitor Whitemane

to access her chambers. Locate Aeonas the Vindicated there and defeat any enemies in your way. Then, head back to

Katherine the Pure

in Stormwind to turn in the final quest and learn Sheath of Light Rune.

Update 12Feb.2024: Fixed an issue where the Sheath of Light spell power prot wasn't correctly activated by melee attacks.

Phase 2 Palandin runes - Engrave Boots - Guarded by the Light rune

Rune Effect: Each time you hit a target with your melee weapon, you gain 5% of your maximum mana per 3 sec for 15 sec, but the amount healed by your Flash of Light, Holy Light, and Holy Shock spells is reduced by 50% during this mana regeneration.

Rune Location: Enter the

Ruins of Alterac

, find the south-facing wall, and click the skeleton to loot the

Dormant Holy Rune

. Use Divine Intervention on a player and have a healer

resurrect you

to obtain the Guarded by the Light Rune.

Update Feb14, 2024:

-Fixed an issue where Guarded by the Light's effect could be cancelled by the player.

WoW SoD Phase 2 Palandin runes - Engrave Boots - Sacred Shield rune

Rune Effect: Each time the target takes damage they gain a Sacred Shield, absorbing 500 damage and increasing the Paladin's chance to critically hit with Flash of Light by 50% for up to 6 sec. In addition, causes your Flash of Light to heal targets with Sacred Shield for an additional 100% over 12 sec. They cannot gain this effect more than once every 6 sec. Lasts 30 sec. This spell cannot be on more than one target at any one time.

Rune Location: First travel to

Nijel's Point in Desolace (66.5, 7.6)

. Once there, they should enter the building and loot the

Libram of Deliverance

from a book on the bench. To proceed, players must equip the Libram of Deliverance and use

Blessing of Freedom 5 times

to free others from movement-impairing effects. Once this is done, they can right-click on the equipped Libram of Deliverance to learn the Sacred Shield Rune.

WoW SoD Phase 2 Palandin runes - Engrave Boots - Art of War rune

Rune Effect: Your melee critical strikes reset the cooldowns on Holy Shock and Exorcism.

Rune Location: To start in Desolace, head to the Extinguished Campfire northwest of the Kodo Graveyard (47, 54). Once there, please pick up the quest and head to Kormek's Hut (63, 39) to turn it into Bibbly F'utzbuckle. Bibbly will give you the next quest, On the Lam. To continue the quest, travel to Booty Bay and go to the inn. Speak to Tokal to turn in On the Lam and pick up Cherry for Your Thoughts. Buy Cherry Grog and give it to her. She will then give you the next quest, “No Honor Among Thieves”. Next, head to the bridge between Arathi Highlands and the Wetlands and find the Rowboat around (53, 91) on the Arathi Highlands map. Interact with the boat to be teleported to the eastern shore. Find Illari Duskfeather and speak with her. You must defeat her in a fight to obtain Illari's Key, which unlocks a nearby chest containing the Art of War Rune. Night Elves have a peaceful dialogue option to obtain Illari's Key instead of fighting her.
