WoW SoD: Phase 4 Shaman Rune&Locations

Rune Engraving is a new system in Wow Season of Discovery that allows players to use skills added in future DLCs. It brings a lot of excitement and changes to the gameplay of WoW Classic 60s.

Nothing is more remarkable for Shaman players than having access to some of the future DLC skills in the early game. We can combine these new runes in-game to create a new Shaman Build, with a total of 24 runes available so far. This opens up endless possibilities and promises an exhilarating experience.

This article will provide detailed information on the 11 runes for Shaman and where or how to obtain them. We will keep updating this page with more details about the phase 4 shaman Runes and their locations.

Rune Effect: Reduces the cooldown of your Chain Lightning by 50%, causes your Earthbind Totem to root targets for 5 sec when cast, and increases the periodic damage done by your Flame Shock by 60%.

Rune Location: Head to northern Felwood (approximately 62, 10) and defeat Deadwood mobs like Deadwood Shaman and Deadwood Avenger until the Voltaic Icon drops. Once you have the Voltaic Icon, equip it and then lower the health of three enemies at the same time. Finally, use a single cast of Chain Lightning to defeat all three enemies simultaneously and earn the Rune.

Rune Effect: Summons two Spirit Wolves under the command of the Shaman, lasting 45 sec.

Rune Location: Head to Ice Thistle Hills in Winterspring and look for a cave at coordinates (67, 42). Once inside, hug the left wall of the cave. When you reach a point where you have the option to go up or down, choose to go down. Then, talk to the chained elemental to free it. After that, defeat the elemental and collect your rune.

Rune Effect: Causes your Chain heal effectiveness to only reduce by 35% per jump, and Chain Lightning effectiveness to only reduce by 20% per jump. Each also jumps to 1 additional target.

Rune Location: 

1. Head to the northern lava pools in Searing Gorge and defeat monsters in the area until one drops a Molten Obsidian Core.

2. Find a location with a pool of standing water. While carrying the Molten Obsidian Core, immerse it in the water to cool it down.

3. Once transformed, use the cooled Molten Obsidian Core to obtain the Rune.

Rune Effect: Chance to hit with Arcane spells increased by 6%. Not cumulative with other ring runes.

Rune Location: Skill with Axes and Two-Handed Axes increased by 5. This effect is not cumulative with racial bonuses or other ring runes.

Rune Effect: Skill with Daggers increased by 5. This effect is not cumulative with racial bonuses or other ring runes.

Rune Location: Find the red book in Silithus at (20, 85), in a tent closest to Ahn'Qiraj. Please read it to learn this rune.

Rune Effect: Chance to hit with Fire spells increased by 6%. Not cumulative with other ring runes.

Rune Location: Overseer Maltorius is located in Searing Gorge, southeast of Thorium Point. Next to his plans, at coordinates (40.58, 35.44), is a book that teaches Fire Specialization.

Rune Effect: Skill with Fist Weapons (Unarmed) increased by 5. This effect is not cumulative with racial bonuses or other ring runes.

Rune Location: The book can be found in Silithus around coordinates (37,45). It is shrouded in Twilight, which might make it a bit hard to spot.

Rune Effect: Chance to hit with Frost spells increased by 6%. Not cumulative with other ring runes.

Rune Location: A small red book titled "Elements for Dummies Volume I: Frost" can be found in the Owlbeast camp in Winterspring, near (59, 59). Click to loot the rune.

Rune Effect: Skill with Maces and Two-Handed Maces increased by 5. This effect is not cumulative with racial bonuses or other ring runes.

Rune Location: Head to the top of Grim Batol in the Wetlands, around (73, 76). There will be a clickable object next to the door; interacting with it will earn this Rune.

Rune Effect: Chance to hit with Nature spells increased by 6%. Not cumulative with other ring runes.

Rune Location: You can find a book called "The Fury of Stormrage" in Felwood at Felpaw Village (coordinates 62.7, 7.49). This book teaches Nature Specialization.

Rune Effect: Skill with Staves and Polearms increased by 5. This effect is not cumulative with racial bonuses or other ring runes.

Rune Location: In Azshara, inside the Temple of Arkkoran, around coordinates (78, 38), there is a book located on the Moonwell. Opening the book will grant you the Rune of Pole Weapon Specialization.
