Every Priest Rune&Location in WoW Season of Discovery

Wow Season of Discovery is bringing priest players more fun with priest runes. Here's where to find and discover all of them.

There will be 12 distinct runes in World of Warcraft Season of Discovery Phase 1 for every class in the game. We will update this page once we have more details about the priest runes and their locations.

We'll examine every runes and its location to help you find your playstyle in WoW Season of Discovery and fully optimize your builds. Now, let's get going!

For Priest players in World of Warcraft: Season of Discovery, there is a new mechanic. You must have at least one Meditation buff to learn the Priest runes; some even require two buffs to be active at once. These 240-minute buffs last until death and can be acquired by kneeling in a place of devotion unique to your race or by meditation.

Meditation on the Light:

Holy places such as Northshire Abbey, the stairs to the altar of the Stormwind Cathedral, and the Altars of Light in Anvilmar and Loch Modan. 

Meditation on Elune:

Moonwells, such as the one in Stormwind or the one in Darnassus. 

Meditation on Undeath:

Any kind of Graveyard. 

Meditation on the Loa:

Loa Altars, such as the one in Sen'Jin Village.

The intended way to get the Meditation buff of a race besides your own is to

/kneel

in front of a Priest of different faiths and have them /pray while targeting you. As long as they have their Meditation buff active, they'll pass it on to you.

Effect: 13% of base mana, 30 yd range,Instant cast, 6-sec cooldown. Afflicts the target with a disease that causes (*39/100*6) Shadow damage over 18 sec.

Human:

To obtain the rune, you must slay Goldtooth in Elwynn Forest. 

Dwarf:

To obtain the rune, you must kill Leper Gnomes outside of Gnomeregan or take it from a stockpile close to Gibblewilt. 

Night Elf:

To locate the rune in a box, descend to the bottom of the Ban'ethil Barrow Den (Furbolg Cave). 

Troll:

To obtain the rune in Durotar, you must eliminate the Kul Tiras Marines and Sailors. 

Undead:

At (25, 48), you must take out an elite Murloc west of Tirisfal Glades.

Update 14Feb, 2024: Fixed a bug that caused Void Plague to benefit more from spell power than intended.

Effect: Healing with Flash Heal reduces the cast time of your next Lesser Heal, Heal, Greater Heal, or Prayer of Healing by 20% for 20 sec, stacking up to 3 times.

Alliance & Horde:

Finish three quests and speak with Grizzly at Ratchet in the Barrens. You must gather the following materials: Utilize the

16x Shredder Turbocharger

with the Venture Co. Light Shredder's Shredder Autosalvage Unit. The engineering tool can be used to create the Shredder Autosalvage Unit. Sneed in the Deadmines drops the recipe for this. Drops from Dark Iron Dwarves located north of Wetlands yield

20x Dark Iron Ordinance

. 

24x Fish Oil

: Dropped by Naga and level 25+ Murlocs. After that, you'll need to return to your capital and find Grizzby again so you may pay him five gold for the rune.

Effect: Lesser Heal, Heal, Greater Heal, and Flash Heal reduce the remaining duration of Weakened Soul on targets they heal by 4 sec. In addition, targets of your Power Word: Shield will gain Rage from taking damage despite the damage being absorbed, and Righteous Fury will trigger from damage absorbed by your Power Word: Shield as if it were a heal.

Locations:

Alliance & Horde:

You must eliminate Thistlefur gangs in Ashenvale to get Primal Insight.

The Prophecy of Seven Visitors can then be obtained by climbing a tree (38, 29) and using Primal Insight adjacent to the dream catcher. You must use two separate Meditation buffs at the same time to obtain the rune.

Effect: Mind Flay and Mind Blast deal 20% increased damage to targets afflicted with your Shadow Word: Pain.

Human:

To obtain the rune, slay the Undying Laborer Elite housed in Westfall's Gold Coast Quarry. 

Dwarf:

In the Loch Modan cave, you must eliminate Kobolds. After obtaining an Offering Coin item, proceed to the left of the cave and deposit the coin get a the well to get the rune. 

Night Elf:

To obtain a Shatterspear Offering, you must eliminate Naga groups northeast of Darkshore. Subsequently, you must descend into the Mathystra Ruins pit and utilize the offering on an underwater statue. 

Undead:

In Silverpine Forest (60, 74), the rune drops from Wailing Spirit. 

Troll:

In the Badismissesu must take down Razormane hordes.

Effect: 4% of base mana, 30 yd range,Instant cast, 3-min cooldown. Summons a holy barrier to protect all party members at the target location for 10 sec, reducing all damage taken by 25% and preventing damage from delaying spellcasting.

Locations: 

Alliance & Horde:

To obtain the Prophecy of a City Enthralled, you must eliminate Blackrock Elite monsters in Stonewatch, Redridge Mountains. You must be using two different Meditation buffs to obtain the rune.

Effect: Your Shadow Word: Pain now also afflicts up to 2 additional nearby targets within 15 yards.

Human:

To obtain the rune, kill the Kobold Miners at the Jasperlode Mine. 

Dwarf:

To get the rune, you must assassinate Captain Beld in Dun Morogh. 

Night Elf:

To obtain the rune, you must assassinate Lord Melenas in a cave close to Dolanaar. 

Undead:

To get the rune, you must slaughter Tirisfal Farmers. 

Troll:

You must kill Makasgar or Gazz'uz in Durotar to obtain the rune.

Effect: 40 yd range, Instant cast, 2 min cooldown. Break off splinters of your soul to animate 3 miniature copies of yourself that attempt to attack your current target with a mace, sword, and axe, reducing the attack speed, attack power, and armor respectively of any target they hit.

Human:

The rune can be obtained by eliminating Defias gangs on Stone Cairn Lake Island. 

Dwarf:

To obtain the rune, you must kill Frostmane Shadowcasters and Frostmane Seers close to Shimmer Ridge. 

Night Elf:

To obtain the rune, you must eliminate Gnarlpine gangs from a cave located west of Dolanaar. 

Undead:

 you must eliminate Scarlet Warriors and Scarlet Missionaries near Solliden Farmstead. 

Troll:

To obtain the rune, you must eliminate Voodoo Trolls near Zalazane. You must have two active Meditation buffs at the same time in order to learn the rune.

Effect: 15% of base mana, 40 yd range, Instant cast, 10-sec cooldown. Places a spell on the target that heals them for (* 93 / 100) the next time they take damage or receive healing.  When the heal occurs, Prayer of Mending jumps to a party or raid member within 20 yards.  Jumps up to 5 times and lasts 30 sec after each jump.  This spell can only be placed on one target at a time.

Locations: Together with another healer of any class, you must locate Adventurer's Spirit or Remains in one of the locations indicated below to begin the ritual. This will call forth a mob that, when defeated, will drop a rune for each participant. However, finishing in crowded zones is more challenging because the mob will disappear for a while after someone completes it. 

Human:

Found in southern Elwynn Forest, east of a hill (49, 86). 

Dwarf:

Found in the Den of Grizzles. 

Troll:

Situated at (48.0, 79.6), south of the Valley of Trials.

Update 14Feb, 2024: Fixed an issue where Prayer of Mending was double dipping with Spiritual Healing, and was also increasing by 10% per bounce on top of that.

16% of base mana, 30 yd range, Channeled, 12-sec cooldown. Launches a volley of holy light at the target, causing (*128/100) Holy damage to an enemy, or (*106/100) healing to an ally, instantly and every 1 sec for 2 sec.

Locations: 

Dwarf:

You must finish Branstock Khalder's Meditation on the Light quest. You'll need to search the Trogg camp near Anvilmar for a memory hidden inside a chest. Next, bow down at Anvilmar's Altar of the Light to reflect on the light and utilize the memory to pick up a new skill. 

Human:

You must finish Priestess Anetta's Meditation on the Light quest. Fighting kobolds is required until you discover a memory of the past inside. After that, take a knee at Northshore Abbey to focus on the light and use the experience to pick up a new skill. 

Night Elf:

You must finish Shanda's mission, "Meditation on Elune." It would be best to keep kneeling at the Moonwell until something from the past shows up inside you. 

Undead:

You must finish Dark Cleric Duesten's Meditation on Undeath task. You will have to search inside the Graveyard on your knees until you find a remembrance of the past. 

Troll:

You have to finish Ken'jai's Wisdom of the Loa quest. It would be best to search inside Sen'jin Village's Loa Altar until you locate a memory of the past.

Effect: 28% of base mana, 30 yd range Channeled (5-sec cast). Causes an explosion of shadow magic around the enemy target, causing (70/100*) to (78/100*) Shadow damage every 1 sec for 5 sec to all enemies within 10 yards around the target.

Locations: 

Alliance:

After obtaining Honored, this rune may be acquired for 4 Gold and 50 Silver from the Azeroth Commerce Authority faction. 

Horde:

After obtaining Honored, this rune can be bought for 4 Gold and 50 Silver from the Durotar Supply and Logistics faction.

Effect:

 

56% of base mana, 40 yd range,Instant cast, 6-sec cooldown. Heals all of target player's party members within 40 yards of target player for (*162/100) to (*180/100).

Locations: 

Alliance & Horde:

To obtain the Dark Insight item, you must eliminate Defias Night Runners and Enchantes in Duskwood. Next, proceed to the isolated burial northeast of Darkshire (90, 30). You must be using two different Meditation buffs to obtain the rune.

Effect: 12% of base mana, 30 yd range, Instant cast, 12-sec cooldown. A word of dark binding that inflicts (*261/100) to (*305/100) Shadow damage to the target.  If the target is not killed by Shadow Word: Death, the caster takes damage equal to the damage inflicted upon the target.

Locations: 

Human:

You must kill Leprithus in Westfall to get the rune. 

Dwarf:

There are two ways to obtain the rune. 1. Kill Mo'grosh Enforcer located in Loch Modan. 2. Kneel before a serpent statue in Loch Modan (72, 27). 

Undead:

Go to Fenris Island in Silverwood and climb the tower. Above, you will find a scroll on a table at Thule Ravenclaw that you can loot. 

Troll:

Find the Desert Mirage in the wasteland near Ratchet (55, 36). Cast Dispel Magic on the Desert Mirage, causing it to die instantly. 

Night Elf:

The rune is located on the small island outside Auberdine by interacting with a small glowing orb.
