WoW SoD: Phase 3 Mage Runes&Locations

by        Game: WOW Classic Season Of Discovery Guide

Rune Engraving is a new system in Wow Season of Discovery that allows players to use skills added in future DLCs. It brings a lot of excitement and changes to the gameplay of WoW Classic Vanilla.
Nothing is more remarkable for Mage players than having access to some of the future DLC skills in the early game. We can combine these new runes in-game to create a new Mage Build, with a total of 24 runes available so far. This opens up endless possibilities and promises an exhilarating experience.
Follow MMOJUGG as we launch a new series of articles showcasing all the rune effects and locations in the World of Warcraft Season of Discovery Phase 3 for all 9 classes.

This article will provide detailed information on the 6 runes for Mage and where or how to obtain them. We will keep updating this page with more details about the phase 3 Mage Runes and their locations.

WoW SoD Phase 3 Mage runes - Engrave Bracer - Balefire Bolt

Rune Effect: Unleash a reality-distorting burst of raw magic at your enemy, dealing 486.686 to 730.029 Chimeric damage. Each time you cast Balefire Bolt, the damage of your next Balefire Bolt within 30 sec will be increased by 10% and your Spirit will be decreased by 10% for 30 sec, both stacking up to 10 times. If your Spirit reaches 0 as consequence, you will immediately die. This spell will be checked against the lower of the target's Arcane, Fire, and Frost resists.
Rune Location: Mages might need the Hypnotic Blade and the Spatial Repair Scroll to obtain this rune (though some players reportedly do not require the sword). Players must search all over Azeroth for a Fel Portal (such as a [Fel Shard], [Fel Tear], or [Fel Rift]). Using the Spatial Repair Scroll and the Hypnotic Blade to close one of these Fel Portals will reward the rune. Specific maps include the Barrens, Westfall, Darkshore, Silverpine Forest, Ashenvale, Redridge Mountains, Swamp of Sorrows, Desolace, Feralas, Azshara, the Blasted Lands, and others.

WoW SoD Phase 3 Mage runes - Engrave Bracer - Displacement

Rune Effect: Teleports back to where you last cast Blink from and resets the cooldown on Blink. Only usable within 10 sec of casting Blink.
Rune Location: Gather energy from the four Fel Crystals found around the world. Each crystal requires a specific material to gather energy (four materials in total). Locations are as follows: Feralas: 57,60; Hinterlands: 48,59; Azshara: 22,79; Searing Gorge: 55,65. Completing these tasks will summon an elemental creature, a level 47 Arcane Elemental immune to arcane damage. This is a challenging fight even for level 50 players; if possible, it is best to form a small group.

WoW SoD Phase 3 Mage runes - Engrave Bracer - Molten Armor

Rune Effect: Causes 17.382 Fire damage when hit, increases your spell critical strike chance by 5%, and reduces the chance you are critically hit by 5%. Only one type of Armor spell can be active on the Mage at any time. Lasts 30 min.
Rune Location: This rune requires a Friendly reputation with the Emerald Wardens and costs 1 gold and 60 silver to purchase.

WoW SoD Phase 3 Mage runes - Engrave Helm - Advanced Warding

Rune Effect: Increases the magnitude of your Mana Shield, Frost Ward, and Fire Ward by 100%, and decreases mana drained by Mana Shield by 50% per damage done.
Rune Location:
Start the quest from [Shadowfang Messenger] in the Emerald Sanctuary of Felwood. This initial quest cannot be shared; each person must pick it up individually.
Head to the Hinterlands and kill elite trolls in Jintha'Alor to obtain the [Whispering Elixir of the Wilds]. Go to Razorfen Downs and clear the area around Amnennar the Coldbringer.
Drink the Whispering Elixir of the Wilds to summon [Spirit of Agamaggan]. Speak with him to receive a quest and the [Roar of Agamaggan]. Only one player needs to drink the elixir to summon him.
You need to kill two monsters in three different dungeons to summon a type of ghost monster. When you trigger it, you will receive a chat message: "You sense a shadowy presence.
" Use the Roar of Agamaggan near the ghost monster to make a level 52 elite ancient tree hostile. Each ancient tree drops one [Offering of the Wilds]:

Zul'Farrak:

Clear Gahz'rilla and spawn a ghost spider to summon the [Enraged Ancient].

Maraudon:

Clear the area around Princess Theradras and spawn a ghost raptor in the water to summon the [Enraged Ancient].

Blackrock Depths:

Defeat all three bosses (including the Ring of Law), and spawn a ghost lizard on the Dark Iron Highway (leading to Bael'Gar) to summon the [Enraged Ancient].
Once you have collected all three Offerings of the Wilds, return to the [Shadowfang Messenger] to receive your rune.

Mage have always been one of the strongest Spellcaster classes in World of Warcraft. They wield mysterious spells to defeat their enemies. Despite their use of powerful offensive magic, Mages have thin armor and low defense, making them particularly vulnerable to close-range attacks. Cunning Mages will adeptly use spells to keep their enemies at a distance or control them in appropriate positions. In the past, in World of Warcraft, Mages were only considered reliable DPS providers, but in the Season of Discovery, developers have introduced new possibilities for Mages: healer! They excel in both PvE and PvP and demonstrate outstanding performance. With the addition of runes, Mage players are now experiencing limitless enjoyment and possibilities.
