Last week, Blizzard announced several updates for the
Classic Era servers. These updates were initially developed for the
Season of Discovery but were also intended to address long-standing balance issues in
WoW Classic. One of the changes included granting Alliance players the Stormwind Power buff, equivalent to the Horde's Warchief's Blessing.
However, after the updates went live, they received significant backlash from players. In response to player feedback, Blizzard released a blue post today retracting the following changes for the Classic Era.
- Alliance players can no longer use the Stormwind Power World Buff.
- Druids can no longer train and use polearms.
- The cooldown between Onyxia's Lair and Warchief's Blessing has been reverted from 6 hours to 1 minute.
It seems Blizzard is starting to take player suggestions more seriously. Additionally, the latest patch includes several class skill adjustments:
- Flame Wrath has been redesigned, with its thorns component having a lower spell power ratio and an internal cooldown for Feral Druids.
- Nourish will now benefit from the Omen of Clarity effect and consume it.
- Trap Launcher will no longer work with Freezing Trap.
(Designers explained that the change was made because Hunters gained an unfair advantage in many PvP scenarios. However, all Hunter players know that the Trap Launcher is a god-tier skill for farming dungeons and mobs. Combining remote Frost Trap, Explosive Trap, and Explosive Shot made the process incredibly satisfying. Now, without the ability to launch Frost Traps remotely, the difficulty of farming as a Hunter has increased significantly!)
- If you have the Lone Wolf Rune equipped, the Spirit Healer in battlegrounds will no longer resurrect your pet alongside you.
- Conjure Water (Rank 7) now produces 20 water units per cast. The tooltip might not reflect this change immediately.
- Mana Shield of all ranks will no longer stack when the Advanced Guardian rune is carved.
- Mana Shield of all ranks will be canceled if the rune is not equipped or if someone absorbs damage while the caster no longer has the rune equipped.
- Wana Shield of all ranks will be removed. When the Advanced Guardian rune is equipped
- Beacon of Light will no longer cause players to stand up constantly.
Binding Heal will now correctly consume Surge of Light.
- Flametongue Weapon will persist after death and does not need to be recast.
- The Grounding Totem effect of Storm, Earth, and Fire will now correctly hit each target, not just one.
- Shaman will no longer receive the Lightning Shield effect from Rolling Thunder when the rune is not equipped.
- The spawn rate of Fel Fracture has been increased.
- The chances of finding the Legion Teleporter Tuner and related tools have been increased.
- Chaos Mark will no longer disappear after 1 minute when using Recklessness Curse or Weakness Curse.
- Infernal Armor Rune will drop even if players have not previously discovered the Shadowflame Rune.
