Which client do I install for Season of Discovery?

You can use the existing WoW Classic client.

When does the Season of Discovery start and end?

Starting Thursday, November 30, the game will launch simultaneously in all time zones at 1 PM PST. Each phase will last a few weeks, longer than a month, or shorter than four or three months; from what we heard from Developers, a year will be the total time of season 1.

What new content awaits in this season?

This season phase 1 has a new level-25 endgame with a first-level ceiling of 25 and a 10-player Blackfathom Deeps raid, including new bosses to test players' plans, tactics, and unique rewards.

Players will be able to add and remove skills through rune engraving. Each class will have 12 Runes accessible, distributed among Gloves, Legs, and Chest, starting at level 2. Every rune will bestow a unique passive or ability. Examples include Warbringer, which enables Warriors to charge into battle, and Regeneration, a healing spell for Mages. Currently, most classes have 12 runes distributed evenly across the three spaces; a small number have a split of 4-5-3, giving them more possibilities in one slot but fewer in another.

How does progression work in the Season of Discovery?

The first level cap for Season of Discovery will be 25. As players level up and unlock new skills, the cap will gradually rise to provide a more progressive endgame experience that changes with every level cap.

What dungeons will be available in Phase 1?

Ragefire Chasm Level Range: 13-18 Minimum Level: 8 Entrance Location: Orgrimmar

Wailing Caverns Level Range: 17-24 Minimum Level: 10 Entrance Location: The Barrens

The Deadmines Level Range: 17-26 Minimum Level: 10 Entrance Location: Westfall (Alliance Territory)

Although Gnomeregan, Razorfen Kraul, and The Scarlet Monastery are theoretically reachable at level 25, they present a formidable obstacle for a group at that stage due to their limited supply of valuable supplies. Notably, Blackfathom Deeps, formerly a level 24-32 dungeon, is not on the list because a new level 25 raid is happening this season. Since most of these dungeons are located in areas under one party's control, players of the opposite factions may find it more difficult to enter them.

Are there PvP changes or additions this season?

A zone-wide PVP event in Ashenvale is one of the new endgame level 25 features that Phase 1 of Season of Discovery brings to Classic World of Warcraft. In addition to a world buff and PVP gear, this event includes a unique mount that won't be available until Phase 2.  Each phase of the season of discovery will start an open-world map PVP area, which provides more rewards.

Will content for previous phases remain in the season of discovery?
