Outland gets a lot rougher on May 14. That's when WoW Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Edition: Overlords of Outland goes live on every realm at the same moment. Two new 25-man raids, fresh daily factions, Arena Season 2, new profession recipes, and the Druid Swift Flight Form all drop together. It moves the game from steady leveling into full raid-and-daily mode.

Blizzard set the exact window: 3:00 PM PDT / 23:00 BST on Thursday, May 14, 2026. Here's how the timing lands in major regions (all on May 14 unless noted):
Region | Time Zone | Launch Time |

North America West | PDT (UTC-7) | 3:00 PM |
North America East | EDT (UTC-4) | 6:00 PM |
North America Central | CDT (UTC-5) | 5:00 PM |

Western/Central Europe | CEST (UTC+2) | 12:00 AM May 15 |

The two new raids are Serpentshrine Cavern in Zangarmarsh and The Eye in Netherstorm, as detailed in Blizzard's official announcement for Overlords of Outland. Both open pre-nerf and need their full attunement chains finished now—those heroic dungeon runs are going to get ugly the moment the phase hits. SSC runs six bosses in a spread-out layout; The Eye is tighter with four bosses in sequence. You pull Tier 5 set tokens out of them: SSC for gloves, legs, and helms, The Eye for shoulders and chest. Kael'thas in The Eye still has the Ashes of Al'ar mount on a low drop rate.
Most serious guilds clear SSC first. The early bosses give the raid team breathing room to tighten up before the longer Kael'thas fight. From what we've seen in past phases, the consumable market dumps hard once these raids open—stock up early if you craft or flip on the AH. One detail a lot of groups miss is how fast heroic queues explode the first week; finish your attunements before May 14 and you skip that headache entirely. For deeper raid preparation, check our Ultimate SSC & Tempest Keep Prep Guide and the SSC/TK Resistance Gear Guide.
The daily factions Ogri'la in Blade's Edge and Sha'tari Skyguard in Terokkar open after short starter questlines. A few dailies feed rep to both at once, so you can push them in parallel without wasting time. Ogri'la hands out Apexis crystals for gear upgrades and sellable pieces. Sha'tari Skyguard gives cloaks, trinkets, and those colorful Nether Ray flying mounts at Exalted. Hit these during low-pop hours, and they become steady gold plus rep that pay for raid pots later.

Arena Season 2 resets the ladder the same day and speeds up point gains compared to Season 1. It runs alongside the raids, so pure PvP teams finally get their own weekly track that doesn't fight raid lockouts. Teams that split nights between arena and raids usually stay sharper overall.
New profession recipes roll out too—better feasts, epic engineering goggles, and Alchemy cauldrons that make guild buffing smoother. Druids with level 70 and 300 riding can grab the Swift Flight Form quest in Moonglade right away. The chain ends in Heroic Sethekk Halls summoning Anzu and gives you 280% flight speed plus the Idol trinket. Finish it early and you save hours every week just flying between dailies and raid hubs. Druids who wait usually regret it once the phase traffic picks up. See our dedicated guide on how to unlock Druid Swift Flight Form and summon Anzu.
For a full catch-up and gearing plan before these raids open, our Fast Gearing & Catch-Up Raid Ready Guide breaks down the most efficient steps, while the Ultimate Phase 2 Prep Guide covers everything in one place. Wowhead also has a solid overview with community comments in their article on The Burning Crusade Anniversary Phase 2 launching May 14th.
The chains are already in the game. SSC needs the Coilfang Reservoir heroic key quest. The Eye requires the full Cipher of Damnation line plus heroic Shattered Halls, Steamvault, Arcatraz, and Magtheridon's Lair. Knock them out now—heroic queues turn into a zoo the week after May 14.
Do the short intro quests in Blade's Edge and Skettis first, then run the shared “Bomb Them Again!" daily plus the faction-specific ones every day. Low-population times make the ray wrangling and relic events far less painful, and the overlapping rep keeps both tracks moving.
It launches with the phase on May 14 and resets the ladder completely. Points come in quicker than Season 1, and the new Gladiator gear sets drop faster for consistent teams. If you arena at all, this is your clean shot at climbing before the mid-phase crowd arrives.
Hit level 70 with 300 riding skill, then talk to Loganaar in Moonglade. The chain takes you through Emerald Dream relics, an Arakkoa book, and Heroic Sethekk Halls to summon Anzu (Lower City Honored required). You keep the Idol trinket and still have a chance at the Raven Lord mount.
Cooking feasts from Shattrath vendors, the new epic engineering goggles, and Alchemy cauldrons all see heavy use. Many pull materials from Ogri'la rewards or raid trash—craft them early and either supply your guild or sell while the market is still hungry.
Wrap up any remaining attunements, stock gold for mounts and consumables, push lagging alts to 70, and run current content for practice. That small head start on resources and access is what separates clean raid nights from week-one chaos.
