Servers launched early February 2026, and we're now about six weeks in. For most guilds, Phase 1 has become a weekly routine—Karazhan is on farm, and Gruul and Magtheridon are dying without much sweat. But according to Blizzard's roadmap, Phase 2 is locked for spring. Based on the usual quarterly cadence, we're looking at Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep dropping around mid-to-late April, likely between April 16 and 30.
Right now, the market is in a weird lull. Most people have finished their epic flying and pre-raid BiS. Consumables aren't being burned at a high rate yet, so prices for pots and flasks are mostly flat or even dipping. But don't let the quiet fool you.
New raids change everything because the entry barrier is much higher. Hydross requires nature resist and 100% flask uptime just to stay alive, while The Eye has tight timers that punish bad mana management. I expect a surge in demand because players who just finished their big gold sinks (like flying) suddenly have spare coin to spend on raid performance.
Open-world supply is going to be the biggest bottleneck. Netherbloom farming outside Botanica simply can't scale fast enough once the whole server starts demanding destruction and haste pots. While Mana Thistle might ease up later once the Skettis dailies are active, early stockpiling is the only way to win before the masses pile in.
Interestingly, while Bottled Nethergon Energy looks good for mana regen, I've noticed most raiders just stick to Super Manas for simplicity. I think this habit will cap the demand spikes some people are expecting for Nethergon.
Item Group | Current State | Phase 2 Direction | Strategy |
|---|---|---|---|
Herbs | Netherbloom/Thistle steady | Sharp rise pre-launch | Buy low now; sell early clears |
Potions | Haste/Destro low burn | Announcement spike | Flip gradually; avoid release day panic |
Flasks | Moderate sales | Steady high for progression | Stock extra for the long wipe nights |
Gems | Mixed, settling | Up from T5 sockets | Prospect Adamantite while it's cheap |
Enchants | Large Prismatics climbing | Keep rising | Stock early; raids drop few blues |
Primals have dipped since the initial pre-raid crafting rush, but they always bounce back. It's a classic cycle: people overbuy before the patch, dump on release day, and then prices recover as progression actually starts burning through the world's stock.
If you want the safest play, grab herbs early—specifically Netherbloom. There are only so many farming spots, and they can't meet the massive alchemy demand once SSC hits. My advice is to scoop these up while they're below market average, hold through the "when's Phase 2" buzz, and sell during the peak hype.
Consumables follow a similar flip cycle. I usually buy low-cost elixirs, craft them into batches, and post them over several days. You can pivot to flasks once herbs get cheaper later in the phase. TSM data usually shows a 20-40% swing weekly, which is plenty of room if you can stomach the deposit fees.
For gems and enchants, keep an eye on Adamantite. Prospecting it while it's at its floor is a smart move. Also, don't sleep on Large Prismatics. Since heroics are being run less and raids don't drop many blues, the supply of these is going to stay low while demand for new T5 gear enchants goes up.
One thing to watch out for: the post-release consume dump. From historical cycles, this is almost an iron law. Everyone over-prepares, panics, and floods the AH on patch day, causing a temporary price crash. I see people ignore this every time, and it always hurts their margins. Get your attunements and resist gear done now so you aren't fighting for supplies when the leak-driven price jumps hit.
Blizzard is targeting a quarterly release, which puts SSC and TK in spring 2026. Most estimates point to mid-to-late April, roughly 10–12 weeks after the server launch.
Try to lock in 2–3 weeks of flasks and potions right now while the market is quiet. You want to avoid the announcement-day spikes when the casual crowd finally starts prepping.
Netherbloom is the clear leader because it's required for top-tier DPS pots and farming locations are limited. Mana Thistle is also solid, though the new Skettis dailies will eventually provide some price relief.
Definitely. Tier 5 introduces more sockets, and the influx of gold from new dailies like Ogri'la will drive up the price of Living Rubies and Dawnstones.
The current lull is usually the cheapest time. While there is often a "panic dump" on release day, the prices during the pre-patch announcement usually stay higher than they are right now.
Ogri'la and Sha'tari Skyguard add a steady stream of raw gold to the economy without significantly increasing the supply of herbs or ore. This usually leads to mild inflation in consumable prices.
Phase 2 prep doesn't have to be complicated: act while the market is boring. Lock in your herbs, watch the consume cycles, and don't get caught in the hype traps.
