In World of Warcraft Season of Discovery Phase 2, Shadow Priests have finally become popular after being long-neglected. The highlights of SoD phase 2 Shadow Priests include Shadowform, Shadow Word: Pain, and Mind Flay, which increase their shadow damage by almost 50%. Additionally, a new DPS skill called Mind Blast will be available.
However, the mechanical enemies in the new Gnomeregan raid are immune to diseases, rendering the most powerful phase 1 Priest runes, "Shadow Word: Void," unusable and causing a significant loss in DPS.
