WoW SoD Phase 2: 3 tweaks make difference

With the patch going live on the World of Warcraft Season of Discovery PTR, a plethora of Phase 2 content has been data mined. Below are three newly discovered tweaks or additions, seemingly minor but immensely significant. Today, with MMOJUGG, let's take a look at what they are!

Insignia are crucial accessories in PvP, requiring Rank 2 to purchase from the quartermaster in the main city. Many players naively believed that emblems could dispel all adverse control effects. As a PvE player, I held this belief until I explored other classes and engaged in battlegrounds, realizing that each class's emblem had different effects, limited to dispelling only 3 control effects. During season of discovery, Blizzard recognized the folly of this design and finally changed it to dispel all movement-impairing effects.

Update 7 Feb 2024: Those PVP Greater Insignia Trinkets are available from Vendors to everybody who get to Rank 5 in PVP.

In WoW Vanilla, warlocks could only summon players one by one, consuming soul shards each time and requiring the cooperation of two teammates. In the season of discovery phase 2, warlocks can perform group summoning rituals, similar to WoW Retail and WotLK Classic. With just one soul shard and the assistance of two players, warlocks can now summon a portal usable for summoning without requiring additional shards. Isn't that convenient?

During Season of Discovery phase 1, there was a world buff from the Blackfathom Deeps. When you stood in Darnassus, you would continuously be struck by lightning, granting you the blessing of the Blackfathom.

However, this blessing will not apply to players level 39 and above, so the world buff from Gnomeregan has arrived.

Update 12Feb, 2024: The Spark of Inspiration world buff now correctly increases +healing.
