The "
none of the above" guild on the Season of Discovery achieved the world's first clear of
Molten Core (MC) on Difficulty 3, while many of their competitors are still struggling with Garr and Baron Geddon. The revamped MC presents significant challenges, particularly on the highest difficulty, where the fire resistance requirement is 226. Unlike previous methods, players can no longer farm fire resistance buffs in Blackrock Depths. The key to "none of the above"'s success was equipping the entire raid with the "Duke's Domain" trinket. This trinket boasts 22 stamina and 20 fire resistance, with an additional 50 fire resistance on use and a short cooldown, making it perfect for MC. However, players are questioning how the guild managed to get everyone to an exalted reputation with the Hydraxian Waterlords on the first day of MC's release. Guild member Takenotetv recently explained the process during a livestream.
Unlike
WoW Classic, where Hydraxian Waterlord's reputation could only be farmed within the
MC raid, Phase 4 of the
season of discovery introduced the Blackrock Eruption event. Completing related daily quests and killing specific mobs grants reputation points.
Takenotetv mentioned that participating in the event and killing eight types of mobs (located in the Burning Steppes) could yield 1400-1600 reputation points per run. By consistently participating in these events, reaching exalted status requires roughly 30 hours. Although it's a grind, Phase 4 has been live for over two weeks, and with effective guild coordination, this goal was manageable.
In addition to the trinket, the collection of other fire resistance gear and enchants played a crucial role. Fortunately, Blizzard significantly reduced the acquisition difficulty of such items in the season of discovery. For instance, the Dark Iron set can be crafted before tackling MC. It's worth noting that the "Duke's Domain" trinket's active effect lasts only 15 seconds, with its cooldown period supplemented by secondary auras.
Moreover, a recent update for WoW SoD allows players to exchange outdated Bottomless Bag patterns for the new version. In the season of discovery, patterns dropped by mobs now craft 20-slot bags instead of the bugged 18-slot ones. Players can visit Kixxle, the <Lost & Found> vendor in Booty Bay, to exchange their 18-slot patterns for the correct 20-slot version.
WoW Season of Discovery, also known as the WoW Classic Plus, is Blizzard's reboot project that integrates resources from multiple versions of WoW into a modified official version. Built on the classic level 60 experience, it introduces a rune system, reworks class abilities and gameplay (e.g., mages can heal, warlocks can tank), and features various changes in dungeons and mobs. The Season of Discovery is updated to Phase 4, with characters reaching level 60.
