Cataclysm Classic: Two Highly Praised Change

Cataclysm can be considered the expansion with the most extensive changes in World of Warcraft history. Today, MMOJUGG will discuss two highly praised changes from the Cataclysm version.

After the release of Cataclysm, raid and dungeon emblems were reset and replaced with Justice/Valor Points.

Justice/Valor Points can be used to purchase PVE gear of varying quality. Valor Points have a weekly cap (slightly different for each stage), but players are not required to log in daily to complete a 5-man heroic dungeon. Instead, they can complete up to seven 5-man heroic dungeons in one go to reach the cap. Moreover, after clearing a 25-man raid, players no longer need to complete 5-man heroic dungeons.

Another benefit of the "Dungeon Emblem" reform is that when a new raid is opened, Valor Points will be converted into Justice Points at a 1:1 ratio and added to existing Justice Points. Players can then use Justice Points to purchase gear previously obtainable with Valor Points, essentially allowing players to "upgrade" the gear they accumulated from 5-man heroic dungeons for free. This change has been widely praised by players and has been retained in subsequent expansions.

With more than half of the new maps in Cataclysm located within Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, Blizzard unlocked flying in WoW Classic. Players can freely fly throughout Azeroth without any additional requirements, except in specific maps like the Blood Elf and Draenei starting zones, and Quel'Danas. Additionally, riding trainers now offer a 310% speed flying skill. Free flying throughout Azeroth is a welcome change for the majority of players. This marks the only time in all World of Warcraft expansions where Blizzard allowed players to freely fly in new maps during the leveling phase of their first character.
