According to the
World of Warcraft Classic 2024 update plan, Cataclysm version BETA is set to launch soon, with the pre-patch scheduled for spring and the official release expected in June. Due to the passage of time, most players have a vague memory of the Cataclysm version.
MMOJUGG will continue to bring you various aspects of the
Cataclysm version. Today, let's explore the
new race introduced in Cataclysm: the Goblins.
1. Background Story:
Originally enslaved by jungle trolls on the Isle of Kezan, Goblins were forced to mine Kaja'mite in the volcanic tunnels of Mount Kajaro. The trolls used this potent mineral in their voodoo rituals, but prolonged exposure had unexpected effects on the slaves: Kaja'mite endowed the Goblins with surprising cunning and intelligence. They secretly crafted powerful engineering and alchemical artifacts, swiftly overthrowing their oppressors and claiming Kezan as their homeland.
The former prison mines, slave pens, and their resistance base now became the city of Undermine. Labyrinthine tunnels, caves, and lava ducts sprawled across the island's center, representing the intricate and unpredictable minds of the Goblins.
Their greedy nature quickly made them prominent figures in mercantilism. During the First War, quick-thinking Goblins learned to profit from it and rose as trade princes. Amassing vast wealth, Kezan became a hub for Goblin trade fleets. During the Second War, one trade prince agreed to assist the Horde with his conglomerate.
After the Horde's defeat, the Goblins learned from their partners' failures and realized they should not limit themselves to such narrow alliances. By the end of the Third War, Goblins had learned to provide weapons, vehicles, and various services for both the Horde and the Alliance. However, such relationships could not last forever...
Recently, the Goblins of Kezan found new enemies within the Alliance—conflicts arose suddenly and without any potential gain, shaking the neutral positions some trade princes once held. After reconciling with past allies, the Goblins promptly turned to the embrace of the Horde.
