According to the 2024 update plan for
WoW Classic, the
cata classic pre-patch went live on May 2, with the full release scheduled globally for May 20, 2024, at 3 PM PST. Along with the pre-patch and release dates, Blizzard has also announced the schedule for various phases of
Cataclysm Classic, including Firelands in October and Dragon Soul in January 2025.
Phase 1 Additions in Cataclysm Classic:
New Level Cap: 85
New Zones: 6 new zones, including 1 PvP area
Old World Flying: Fly in Kalimdor, Eastern Kingdoms, and new Cataclysm zones
New Dungeons and Raids: 7 new dungeons (+2 revamped dungeons) and 4 new raids
New PvP Battlegrounds: 2 new battlegrounds
New Factions: 8 new reputations
New Class Combinations: New race and class combos
New Darkmoon Faire: New Darkmoon Island
New Level Cap:
In Cataclysm, the level cap increases from 80 to 85, bringing more talent points, new glyphs, and new areas to explore.
New Zones:
Cataclysm introduces 6 new zones, including a PvP island:
Mount Hyjal (80-82) , Vashj'ir (80-82), Deepholm (82-83), Uldum (83-84), Twilight Highlands (84-85), Tol Barad (max level PvP island).
Travel in Cataclysm:
Players can now use their flying mounts in the old world (Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms) by learning the Flight Master's License. New portals in Stormwind and Orgrimmar will unlock as you complete major storylines in each zone.

Cataclysm Classic introduces 7 new dungeons and 4 new raids:

Blackrock Caverns (80+), Throne of the Tides (80+), Stonecore (81+), Vortex Pinnacle (82+), Halls of Origination (83+), Lost City of the Tol'vir (83+), Grim Batol (84+)
Revamped: Deadmines (10+ Normal, 85 Heroic) and Shadowfang Keep (11+ Normal, 85 Heroic)

The Bastion of Twilight
Blackwing Descent
Throne of the Four Winds
Baradin Hold (release date TBD)
New Battlegrounds:
PvP fans can enjoy two new battlegrounds: Battle for Gilneas (capture bases) and Twin Peaks (capture the flag). PvP Season 9 starts on May 29.
New Factions:
Cataclysm introduces 8 new factions, each tied to the new zones, offering reputation rewards and powerful items as your reputation increases.
Updated Professions:
New epic gear and other items can be crafted at level 85, including the coveted Vial of the Sands mount. The new Archaeology profession offers powerful and interesting items like Zin'rokh, Destroyer of Worlds, and Fossilized Raptor.
New Darkmoon Faire:
The Darkmoon Faire has been revamped and now resides on Darkmoon Island, featuring new achievements, games, rewards, and vendors.
Highlights include:
Vanilla dungeon armor replicas for transmog.
New mounts and pets.
PvP arena.
New quests related to mini-games and professions.
Heirloom vendors.
