China's official WoW Classic Titan Reforged Server made headlines when someone dropped an eye-watering 660,000 gold on the Eye of Sulfuras at a GDKP Run. Many expected the server's first Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros that very week. Unfortunately, the buyer walked away empty-handed — not because of bad luck, but because of Chrono's heavily modified crafting rules. If you're jumping into Molten Core right now, here's everything you need to know to avoid the same expensive mistake. And if you'd rather skip the early grind entirely, feel free to bookmark our site and browse the WoW Classic Titan Reforged Shop — we have ready-made accounts, gold, and boosting services that let you jump straight into the action.

Unlike classic 60-era rules where you simply combine the Eye of Sulfuras + Sulfuron Hammer + heaps of mats, Chrono completely removed the original Sulfuron Hammer recipe. Instead, Ragnaros still drops the Eye of Sulfuras, but the hammer itself now comes from a single rare drop:
Item | Source | Drop Rate | Details |
|---|---|---|---|
Sulfuron Ingot | Majordomo Executus (MC #7) | ~33% | BoP purple item. Use with any Blacksmithing Hammer at the Black Anvil in BRD to create Sulfuron Hammer instantly. |
This means even if you win the Eye for hundreds of thousands of gold, you still need the ingot from the same lockout — otherwise you wait another week. That's exactly what happened to the 660k buyer.
Chrono also streamlined the two infamous class-specific weapons that used to require long quest chains:
Weapon | Old 60 Method | Chrono New Method |
|---|---|---|
Anathema/Benediction (Priest) | Long Balnazzar + Eye of Divinity chain + Adult Blue Dragon Sinew from world bosses | Drop quest starter in MC → Hand in Shadowy Substance (Lord Kazak) or similar |
Lok'amir il Romathis (Hunter) | Ancient Petrified Leaf + long quest + Mature Blue Dragon Sinew from Azuregos | Drop quest starter in MC → Hand in Blue Dragon Sinew (Azuregos) |
Players who spent 2,000–8,000G per sinew following old guides ended up with useless (and now very expensive) junk because those world-boss items are no longer required for the final combine.
A lot of rogues and warriors are camping Molten Core waiting for the first Binding of the Windseeker from Garr or Baron Geddon. Save your time — Chrono removed both bindings from MC entirely. Current confirmed or strongly datamined information points to two possibilities (the second one is almost certain):
Lady Vashj + Kael'thas each drop one binding in Phase 2 → combine like old times (less likely).
Kael'thas in Tempest Keep directly drops “Windkiss Blade" — a BoP item that starts a short quest and instantly awards the finished Thunderfury.
Given how aggressively Chrono has been simplifying legendary acquisition, the direct-drop version from Kael'thas is what most experienced players expect.
Item / Weapon | Still Drops in MC? | New Acquisition Method | Ready in Phase 1? |
|---|---|---|---|
Eye of Sulfuras | Yes (Ragnaros) | Same | Yes |
Sulfuron Hammer | No recipe | Sulfuron Ingot → Black Anvil | Yes (with ingot) |
Left/Right Binding (TFury) | No | Removed → P2 Kael'thas direct drop (probable) | No |
Priest Benediction | Quest starter only | + Kazak drop only | Yes |
Hunter Lok'amir | Quest starter only | + Azuregos drop only | Yes |
Only if Majordomo also drops the Sulfuron Ingot that lockout (~33% chance).
No, they have been removed from Molten Core on Chrono.
No. The quest starters drop inside MC and only require the world-boss items (Azuregos sinew or Kazak substance).
Very unlikely. Current datamining shows the final “Windkiss Blade" from Kael'thas turns in directly for the finished sword.
Eye yes (if you're prepared to wait for the ingot), but avoid overpaying for old sinew/substance unless you're certain your group still needs them for alts.
