WoW War Within: Highest Keystone Breakdown

The War Within Season 1 TGP Grand Finals wrapped up last weekend, and Mandatory took the crown with a stunning world-first +21 Ara-Kara run. Facing stiff competition from Streamer Zone GG and No Speaky, they delivered a masterclass in strategy and execution. Let's unpack how they conquered this brutal key and what it takes to tame a dungeon at this level.

Starting with a bang

Right from the start, Mandatory showed that their preparation was on point. Modmode grabbed a Tailoring item from the Disharmonious Attendant, stunning the first mini-boss for 15 seconds. At +21, a single web bolt can one-shot you, so by trapping the mob early, they were able to pile on the damage before the spider could blink. They quickly pushed the bloated crawlers into Toxic Rupture range, setting the pace for a massive pull.
Next, they pulled out every flyer and crawler in sight. Stacked tightly inside Modmode's barrier, they mitigated the Flyer bleed chaos - Skylark even popped Stoneskin to fend it off. The crawlers' Venomous Spit is a killer if unchecked, but they held cooldowns for the next mini-boss, knowing the real fight was looming.

Take on the big threats

Enter Knackt, the dungeon's deadliest mini-boss. Oppressive Roar and Silk Wrap will stun him long enough to cut down stragglers and prepare for Call of the Brood. At this level, that move will deal double your health in less than two seconds - insane! Perfect timing and preparation kept them alive, allowing them to wipe out the final mini-boss before facing Aox.
Aox is where most runs die, and for good reason. Onslaughts and Alerting Shriek hit like a truck, testing Modmode's healing for over five minutes. Mandatory pulls extra garbage with Bloodlust, spreading out to rip it apart while dodging spiderlings. It's a chaotic dance, but they did it, paving the way for the city section.

City Chaos and Boss Precision

In town, Assistants, Web Mages and Blood Guards threw everything they had at them - shredding strikes, casts and AOE slams. Mandatory countered with Thunderstorm, Solar Beam and Capacitor Totems, shutting down threats to keep the death toll at zero. Modmode's Spatial Paradox teleported the team to Anub'Azad, a marathon boss with Infestation DOTs and Bur Charges. The Aoker baited the charges flawlessly and hovered out of harm's way.

The Final Stretch

Using Silk Web on an Overseer, they skipped Stove with Shadowmeld and pulled drones and Overseers in a high-stakes tank test for Skylark. With the count secure, they faced Kikatal the Harvester - 1.5 billion HP at +21! It's a DPS sprint, dodging Cosmic Singularities and cleaning up Cultivated Poison. With flawless cooldowns, they finished with 40 seconds left.
