Starting the quest chain
Your journey begins in Orgrimmar or Stormwind, where you'll pick up the quest from the Argent Outfitters that will lead you to the Chapel of Light in the Eastern Plaguelands. Whether you're Horde or Alliance, the quickest way to get there is to fly or walk through Western Plaguelands.
Once at Light's Hope Chapel, you'll find quests such as Under the Shadow and Shadows of Doom, which require you to collect necrotic runes and summon a formidable enemy.
Understanding the Scourge Invasion
The invasion takes place in six zones: Eastern Plaguelands, Burning Steppes, Blasted Lands, Tanaris, Winterspring and Searing Gorge. Look for the purple circle on your map to locate these areas. Invasions are a constant and provide ample opportunity to farm for equipment and buffs.
Necropolis: These floating citadels are your key to finding the mobs you need for quests. Look for the necropolis in the sky to know where to go.
Farming Necrotic Runes: Kill mobs around the necropolis to collect necrotic runes. These will be used to summon cultist engineers for the Shadows of Doom quest, where you will fight a major boss.
Rewards: Defeating these bosses can drop Sanctified equipment, which is essential for upgrading your character's abilities.
New Shoulder Enchants
A highlight of this event is the introduction of new Shoulder Enchants. After collecting a Heart of Doom from bosses such as the Shadow of Doom, you can return to the Chapel of Light's Hope. Brother Lector there will exchange this Heart for a Remnant of Valour, which is part of your Shoulder Enchants.
Turning in hearts: As well as advancing your quest, each heart you turn in will give you Remnants, which are essential for enchanting your shoulders with powerful buffs.
Buffs and equipment: As well as enchants, you can purchase stamina buffs from the Argent Dawn champions, as well as special oils and sharpening stones to boost your damage and healing abilities.
Tips for PVP Servers
If you're on a PVP server, be careful as areas can be dominated by one faction. Use the location of the necropolis to your advantage to find less crowded spots to farm or join groups for better protection.
