Phase 7 of World of Warcraft: Season of Discovery has arrived in February 2025, and Protection Paladins are gearing up to tank Naxxramas in style. With sanctified buffs, a beefy seal-stacking rotation, and killer BiS options, this guide is your ticket to surviving the Scourge - and looking good doing it. Let's break down the best gear, pre-raid picks, and rotation tweaks from March 2025 - time to shield up!

Why Prot Paladin rules in Phase 7

Prot Paladins in Phase 7 are threat machines with solid mitigation, thanks to Naxx's hallowed gear and runes like Aegis. The new Soul of the Seal enchantment spices up the rotation with Seal stacking, keeping things simple but powerful. Whether you're soaking up hits or smashing undead, this build has you covered. Let's roll!

Pre-Raid BiS: Naxx-Ready Starter Kit

Grab these pre-raid pieces before Naxxramas. Stack eight sacred slots and hit Seal of the Dawn Rank 2 (150 Remnants of Valour) for maximum juice.

Why it's hot: Soulforge and Undead Warding gear pump sanctified buffs - aim for 15K HP. Swap Ghastly Ring (Karazhan Crypts) for Threat when healers are clutch.

Naxxramas BiS: Threat vs. Mitigation

In Naxx, choose between an early Threat build and a late Mitigation build, mixing Tier 2 Ret (T2R) and Tier 3 Prot (T3P).

Threat build (4T3P + 4T2R)

Head: Redemption Crown (Naxx) + Syncretist Signet
Shoulders: Redemption Pauldrons (Naxx) + Soul of the Signaler
Chest: Redemption Chestguard (Naxx) + Enchantment Chest - Vital stats
Wrist: Redemption Bracers (Naxx) + Enchant Bracers - Superior Strength
Back: Shifting Silk Cloak (Naxx, Holy Slot)
Rings: Redemption Ring (Naxx), Ghastly Ring (Karazhan Crypts)
Trinket: Hand of Justice (BRD)
Weapon: Truthsayer (BWL) + Enchant Weapon - Crusader
Stats:
Haste + Expertise from T3P, Signet Retention from T2R. Hits ~5.5K DPS-Swap Hand of Justice for Stylin' if squishy.

Mitigation build (6T3P + 2T2R)

Add: Redemption Gauntlets (Naxx) + Enchant Gloves - Superior Strength, Redemption Sabatons (Naxx) + Enchant Boots - Greater Agility.
Exchange: Cloak of the Golden Hive (AQ) for back, Stylin' (block) for trinket.
Stats: More armour/persistence, still 5K+ DPS.
Why it works: Naxx's 4% dodge debuff requires block gear - Stylin' or Glyph of Deflection keeps you dodge-capped.

New Rotation: Seal Stacking Mastery

Seal Bearer's Soul lets you juggle Signet of Martyrdom and Signet of Righteousness (6 second uptime). Macro them into one button to keep them rolling.
Priority: Holy Shield (100% uptime), Judgement (macros everywhere), Avenger's Shield, Exorcism.
Filler: Hammer of the Righteous, Crusader's Strike.
Pro tip: Holy Shield > DPS in Prog - don't be that tank.
DPS: 5K-6K with holy buffs - threat is never an issue.

Talents & Runes: Core Tank

Holy (15): Divine Strength (5), Signet of Righteousness (5), Sanctification (5).
Protection (31): Toughness (5), sacred shield (1), redoubt (5), aegis (1).
Vengeance (5): Benediction (5).
Runes: Aegis (chest), Malleable Shield (waist), Signet of Martyrdom (hands), Art of War (feet).
Flex: Cloak of Light for Farm Mode DPS - swap back for Prog.

Naxx Survival: Fire Resist & More

Fire resistance: 96 (Heat 2), 226 (Heat 3) for Molten Core. Use Juju Ember, Blessed Flame Mantle (Argent Dawn) or Pyremail Wristguards (BRD). Avoid Mark of the Wild on Garr - he dispels it.
Pots: Shadow, Frost, Nature, Fire - Four Horsemen require them. Frost gear (Ice Glacier) is optional for now.
Seal of the Dawn: Weekly free power upgrade, don't skip it.

Why it's worth it

Prot Paladins in phase 7 tank Naxx with 5K-6K DPS and strong mitigation. Sacred gear and Seal stacking make you a raid MVP - survive, threaten, and flex those holy muscles. It's tanking with swagger!

Thanks for reading

Prot Paladin in phase 7 rocks Naxx with 5K-6K DPS and tanky vibes. Seal stacking with Soul of the Seal Bearer, sacred BiS like Redemption gear, and a tight rotation (Holy Shield first!) make you a raid star. Pre-raid Soulforge kicks things off, while Naxx's Threat or Mitigation builds seal the deal - survive, threaten, and kill!
