Phase 7 of the Season of Discovery promises new dungeons, revamped raids, and unique gear systems. Here's how to prepare so you can dive into the action without missing any of the epic moments:
Leveling to 60 - The fast track:
Acquiring runes: Begin by purchasing your powerful runes from the vendors in the starting areas. You'll need armour to equip them, so coordinate with friends or guildmates.
Efficient leveling: Take advantage of the resting XP bonus for levels 1-22. Kill mobs in Duskwood (25-34), Ashenvale (37-47) and then consider Feralas or the Hinterlands. From level 53, take part in the daily Blackrock Mountain event for XP and gold.
Gear up for the new content:
Tier 1 and Tier 2 gear: You don't need top-tier gear from previous phases. Tier one and two epics will get you started. Enter PUG dungeons at level 48 for Undermine Reals to trade for gear in Booty Bay.
Pugging Raids: With just a mix of epics and greens, you'll be ready to join Molten Core runs for more real and gear, and progress to Zul'Gurub and Blackwing Lair for further upgrades.
Attunements and reputation:
Karazhan Crypts: Begin your attunement from Light's Hope Chapel on 28 January.
Naxxramas: Aim for at least Honoured with Argent Dawn for the attunement. Higher reputation reduces the cost. Secure the Seal of the Argent Dawn trinket, which is essential for the new gear system.
The Sacred Gear System:
Seal of the Dawn trinket: This trinket scales with the number of Sanctified Gear pieces you have, giving you huge bonuses to damage, healing, or threat depending on your role. It has a similar upgrade path to Icecrown Citadel and requires materials from Naxxramas.
Sources of Sanctified Gear:
Scourge Invasion: Participate in this event for Necrotic Runes, which can be traded for Sanctified Gear, providing an important catch-up mechanism.
Karazhan Crypts: This new dungeon will drop Sanctified pieces, making it a daily must for gear.
Crafted Gear: Wait for the Naxxramas Frozen Runes drop to craft high-level gear, although this is post-raid.
Gold-making strategies:
Spam dungeons and raids: Strat and Scholomance for Argent Dawn rep and potential high-value drops. Molten Core for Undermine Reals that can be turned into valuable reagents.
Market Dynamics: Buy crafted gear shortly after the raid opens, when prices may still be reasonable.
