WoW SoD Phase 7 passive gold farming guide: Print 2000g every 4 days

Hey, Azeroth gold grinders! Tired of scraping by on pocket change in World of Warcraft? Season of Discovery Phase 7? What if I told you that there's a way for you to rake in 2000 gold every four days with almost no effort at all? This passive gold-making empire, based on tailoring and leatherworking, is a game changer - and I'm going to tell you how to set it up. Whether you've got a bunch of alts gathering dust, or you just want a steady cash flow for those juicy tier 3 crafts, this guide's got your back. Let's turn those idle toons into a money-printing machine!

The Plan: Tailoring & Leatherworking Goldmine

Here's the gist: max out Tailoring to 300 and Leatherworking to at least 250 (300 if you're feeling fancy) on multiple characters. Use these professions to craft Mooncloth and Cured Rugged Hide - two hot items in phase 7 thanks to the tier 3 crafting demand. Set it and forget it - log in every few days, craft and cash out. It's low effort, high reward, and perfect for funding raids, buffs, or that epic mount you've been eyeing.

Step 1: Setup & Character Preparation

Level requirement: Get your characters to at least 35 (Phase 7's new profession cap threshold - down from 41 in Phase 3). Alts from earlier phases will work well here.
Professions:
Tailoring until 300: Craft Mooncloth every 4 days. At 300, you're guaranteed at least 3 per craft, with a chance of 5.
Leatherworking to 250+: Use a salt shaker (requires 250 skill) to turn Deeprock Salt into Refined Deeprock Salt. A character at 300 Leatherworking will craft Cured Rugged Hide for bonus procs (3-5 per craft).
Location: Park your crew in Silithus - the Moonwell to Mailbox run is the shortest in the game. No Stormwind parking nonsense, efficiency is king.
Leveling these skills takes about 1-2 hours per profession with the right mats. Tailoring is cheap until Runecloth, while Leatherworking gets expensive after 250 (Rugged Leather isn't cheap!). It's an investment, but well worth it.

Step 2: The crafting cycle

Mooncloth: Each tailor needs 2 mooncloth per craft (cooldown: 4 days). With 300 skill, you'll get 3-5 mooncloth per pop - pure profit with zero RNG pain.
Cured Rugged Hide: Use a 250 Leatherworker to make Refined Deeprock Salt (3 Deeprock Salt + 1 Salt Shaker charge, 3 day cooldown). Your 300 Leatherworker will then process the hides (1 Rugged Hide + 1 Refined Salt = 3-5 Cured Hides).
Routine: Log in every 4 days, craft, send the hides to your main and list them on the auction house. Takes 10-15 minutes at most.
Pro tip: Synchronise Leatherworking's 3-day Salt Shaker with Tailoring's 4-day Mooncloth for maximum efficiency - they align every 12 days if you're a stickler for perfection.

Step 3: Cash in

Market prices: On high-pop servers, Cured Rugged Hide fetches 50g per stack, Mooncloth around 45g. With 5-7 alts, you're looking at 800-1200g for hides and 900-1000g for cloth - a total of ~2000g every 4 days.
Sell smart: List in stacks of 10 for large buyers (tier 3 crafters). If they sit, drop to stacks of 5. Check your server's prices - demand is sky-high with Naxxramas gear in play.
This setup pays for everything from raid consumables to guild bank investments. It's the passive gold that keeps on giving.

Why it works in Phase 7

Tier 3 crafting is driving demand through the roof - Mooncloth and Cured Rugged Hide are must-haves for those shiny new sets. And with rune brokers making levelling alts a breeze, there's no excuse for not spinning up a few gold bots. The economy is ripe, and this is a stress-free way to cash in.

Tips to maximise your profits

Cheap mats: Snipe Felcloth and Rugged Leather on AH when prices are low - saves a fortune compared to farming.
Old Army: More characters = more crafting. Five to seven is the sweet spot, beyond that it's overkill.
Alternatives: When mats spike, craft low-level tailoring items (like runecloth headbands) to DE or sell. Flexibility is your friend.

The Catch

The upfront costs sting - levelling up to 300 isn't free, and the price of Rugged Leather can bite. But once you're rolling, the system pays for itself in a single cycle. Patience and a little gold seed money are all you need.

Why this rules

This isn't some sweaty farming grind - it's a chill, log-in and profit gig. Perfect for casual players or raiders who'd rather slay Kel'Thuzad than haggle over Grave Moss. Set it up, sit back and watch the mailbox overflow.
