Welcome to the latest update on World of Warcraft Classic's Season of Discovery, where we dive into the first set of phenomenal Phase 7 hotfixes. Blizzard has just released these updates, which address numerous issues and bugs, as well as improving the quality of life for players. Let's see what these changes mean for your gameplay experience.
Resupply from Karazhan
One of the first hotfixes will allow players to correctly deliver Karazhan supplies to city supply officers. Previously, some players experienced problems with this, but now the process should be seamless. This change is particularly beneficial for those looking to maximise their reputation gains, although the exact amount of reputation awarded is still a bit of a mystery. Scourge Invasion Quest Improvements
The Shadow of Doom Scourge Invasion quest has been updated to allow completion while in a raid group, ensuring that everyone gets credit for the kill. This change is a game changer, especially considering the fast-paced nature of Season of Discovery. It's a relief for players on PvP servers, where competition can be fierce, and reduces the frustration of being outmanoeuvred by other groups.
In addition, Shadows of Doom now spawn an interactable Heart of Doom that players can loot to start their Shoulder Enchanting quest. This is crucial to the build, as Shoulder Enchants are a powerful addition to any build. It is hoped that this mechanic will also work in larger raid groups, encouraging more communal gameplay.
Item and Quest Fixes
The tooltip for the Doomsayer's Wand of Doom has been corrected to reflect that it deals 100 damage per stack of Creeping Darkness, up from 45. This not only clarifies the power of the wand, but also makes it more desirable for damage dealers.
Hunters will now only be able to see and loot the Tome of Enchanted Flare, ensuring that class-specific benefits are maintained. In addition, a minor fix allows the Elemental Equation and Core of Elements quests to be completed in the Chapel of Light's Hope, streamlining quest progression for those involved in these tasks.
Community feedback and future hopes
While these hotfixes have been well received, there's always room for more. The community has expressed a desire for Scourge Invasions to be available 24/7 without the current respawn timers, which would greatly increase the opportunity to farm necessary items and engage in world content.
Phase 7 of the Season of Discovery has had an impressive start, exceeding the expectations set by previous phases. In particular, the Karazhan Crypts have been a highlight, offering new experiences with innovative room designs and mob types, and truly rewarding players for their hard work over the course of the game.
Looking ahead: Naxxramas PTR Updates
On the horizon, Naxxramas is gearing up for its final round of raid testing on the PTR, with adjustments being made to accommodate different raid sizes and vendor tweaks in Stormwind and Orgrimmar. This means that players will soon be able to test out the new tier 3 gear and set bonuses, adding another layer of excitement to the game.
Blizzard is keeping a few secrets about Naxxramas, promising unprecedented power levels and unique encounters. Speculation is rife, with many hoping for an encounter with the Lich King, perhaps through the portals during the Battle of Kel'Thuzad.
