WoW Plus: Naxxramas World First Epic Clear

The World of Warcraft community has witnessed an incredible feat as the US guild <ripbozo> has secured the world's first Epic Clear of Naxxramas on the Plus servers (Season of Discovery). This monumental achievement took place on the 12th of February and marks a significant milestone in the game's history.

Naxxramas, or NAXX, is the pinnacle of the Phase 7 raid on the Plus servers. Known for its revamped difficulty, this version requires the activation of all four zones in Epic mode for the 20-player setup as per WCL rules. The intensity of the raid has been significantly increased, with the Seal of the Dawn progression system making the first week's clear a rare level 60 raid achievement.

<ripbozo> shared a clip of their victory over Kel'Thuzad, demonstrating the strategic depth and skill required for this epic encounter. 

In an interview with Wowhead, guild leader Asch discussed the path to this achievement. He mentioned that some of the boss fights required special tactics, which he plans to detail in an upcoming video. Asch also confirmed that defeating Kel'Thuzad on Epic difficulty will grant an epic mount, similar to the Death Knight's Reins of the Hungry Cold, which leaves a spectacular purple trail as it moves.

Asch praised the design of this version of Naxxramas, noting that it lives up to its hype in terms of challenge and fun. He explained that at Heroic difficulty (level 2), the raid was manageable without the need for specific class stacks and provided a satisfying fight. However, the jump to Epic (level 3) made Naxxramas truly stand out as one of the best iterations of this classic raid, blending tradition with innovation.

He recalled the various iterations of Naxxramas, from the original to Wrath of the Lich King to Time Walking to Classic, but said that the Plus servers capture the essence of Naxxramas in a unique way. Asch believes that when developers are given the freedom to innovate, they can create experiences that feel both magical and challenging, preserving the core design of the raid while enhancing its appeal.
