Not all “wins” are equal. Sockets are a slam dunk—more links, more power. Implicits? That's where it gets dicey. From our 100 runs:  

Useful Implicits (8%): Chaos resistance, flat life, or Iron Rune equivalents (armor/evasion/energy shield boosts). Solid gold for most builds.  

Neutral Implicits (8%): Physical damage reduction, damage recoup as life/mana. Niche—great for specific setups, meh otherwise.

So, of that 43% “positive” rate, only 30% are reliably good (22% sockets + 8% top implicits), with 8% situational and 5% duds. Suddenly, raw Vaaling looks riskier—60% chance of a bad or useless result.  

Enter the Omen of Corruption—it axes the “nothing happens” outcome, tilting the scales. With it active:  

Brick Rate: 40%—reroll still stings, no change there.  

Socket Chance: 31%—more links, reliable value.  

Implicit Chance: 29%—split between good (11%), neutral (11%), and useless (7%).

Now, 60% of outcomes are positive (sockets or implicits), with 40% bricking. Factor in useful implicits, and you've got 53% decent-to-good odds (31% sockets + 11% good implicits + 11% neutral). That's a game-changer—more than half your Vaals add value, not pain.

Without Omen: 30% good, 30% brick, 30% useless, 8% decent. You're flipping a coin—60% chance of regret. Fine for junk gear, risky for anything decent.  

With Omen: 40% brick, 31% sockets, 29% implicits (11% good, 11% decent, 7% useless). Over 50% positive—worth it if the Omen's cheap.  

Cost Check: Omens vary by league—free in early meta, pricier later. At 5-10 chaos, it's a no-brainer; at 50+, calculate your gear's value first.  

Mirror Caveat: Corrupted items can't be mirrored. If you're crafting for mirror-tier sales, skip this entirely.

Target Cheap Bases: Two-socket chests are low-risk guinea pigs—test the waters before Vaaling your BiS.
