The Planetologist questline revolves around Derek, your primary trainer, based at Imperial Testing Station 2 (TS2) in South Haga Basin. The quests involve frequent travel and retrieving mini mic films from testing facilities. With nine quests, this is one of the longer class unlock paths, but its rewards, especially harvesting passives, are worth the effort. An ornithopter is highly recommended for advanced quests to save time.

Begin at TS2 in South Haga Basin, where Derek is located atop a mountainous area. The optional Assistance Needed quest (150 XP) guides you to Derek, but you can skip it. Head to the testing facility below Derek, retrieve a mini mic film from a bookcase near the end, and return to him. This unlocks the Planetologist skill line, providing early harvesting and movement skills.

Tip: Complete this before leaving South Haga Basin to boost your early-game resource gathering.

Clear the facility, retrieve a mini mic film and a bracelet from the loot room's hidden door, and turn in to Derek, who's waiting outside. This unlocks the Spice Surveyor capstone skill, ideal for spice harvesting. Derek returns to TS2.
