The Scourge Invasion has received a significant update in World of Warcraft's Season of Discovery. Here's everything you need to know to prepare, participate, and reap the rewards.
Begin at Light's Hope Chapel
Begin your journey by picking up quests at your capital city's Argent tent, leading you to Light's Hope Chapel in Eastern Plaguelands (EPL). Here you'll Collect 10 Necrotic Stones and hunt for a Heart of Doom to unlock the Argent Outfitter, which is essential for further rewards.
Rewards and Quests
Heart of Doom: Rewards 80 Remnants of Valour (subject to change) and can be redeemed for 5 Blessed Wizard Oil. This quest is repeatable and has been renamed "Never at Rest".
Shoulder Enchants: Requires 250 Remnants of Valour or 5 tokens, allowing for powerful enchantments.
Gear and Set Bonuses
Undead Purification Sets: Specialised for each spec and armour type.
Used to assemble the three-piece set:
Chest piece from Shadows of Doom or Karazhan Crypts.
Bracers from rare mobs in Invasions or Karazhan Crypts (Bind on Equip, tradable).
Gloves, available from the Argent Outfitter for 30 Necrotic Runes.
This set is particularly useful for Naxxramas, as it provides a significant advantage against undead.
Invasion mechanics changes
Mob spawn rates:Dramatically increased, making solo play challenging without high-end gear.
Group play of at least five is recommended.
Invasion zones: EPL, Burning Steppes, Tanaris, Winterspring, Azshara, and Blasted Lands remain as key zones.
Brother Luctus and new strategy
Brother Luctus now appears in every Invasion Zone, offering the quest "Never at Rest", which is key to farming Remnants of Valour. His locations throughout the zones are convenient:
Burning Steppes: Coordinates 65, 55
Blasted Lands: Near the border of Swamp of Sorrows at 35, 65
Tanaris: Outside the graveyard at 54, 28
Azshara: Specific location not listed in the transcript
Winterspring: Just outside Everlook at 58, 36
The strategy is to kill a Shadow of Doom, deliver the Heart of Doom to Brother Luctus, and repeat due to the rapid respawn of enemies.
