Welcome, Exiles! This is the first Path of Exile 2 (PoE2) Soul Core Report for the Dawn of the Hunt League, dated April 17, 2025, marking the 13th day since the league's launch. Soul Cores in Path of Exile 2 (PoE2) are potent socketable items that feature unique mods unattainable through regular runes. Born from Chaos, these artifacts were emulated by the Vaal using blood magic and human sacrifices to sustain their civilization. The Trialmaster may occasionally present opportunities to acquire these rare and powerful Soul Cores, making them highly coveted for their ability to unlock extraordinary power in endgame builds. Since this is the first Soul Core report of the season, we'll compare with last season's data from December 17, 2024 (Standard League), captured just before the economic collapse triggered by patch 0.1.0e on December 19. Let's dive into the Soul Core market!
Notes on Last Season's Data:
Last season's prices for most Soul Cores were listed directly in Exalted Orbs (Ex). For Soul Core of Azcapa, originally priced at 4 Divine Orbs (Div), we converted to Exalted Orbs using the approximate rate of 1 Divine = 4 Exalted Orbs on December 17, 2024 (before the spike to 38 Ex by December 19), resulting in 16 Ex.
Soul Core of Zalatl was listed as 10 Ex, which is used directly for comparison.
PoE2 Soul Core Market Observations & Trends
Significant Price Increases Compared to Last Season's Equivalent Date
Compared to last season's data on December 17, 2024, this season's Soul Core prices have generally surged, reflecting higher demand or reduced supply:
Soul Core of Ticaba: Skyrocketed from 1 Ex last season to 83 Ex this season, an 83-fold increase, likely due to its rarity or a highly desirable associated encounter.
Soul Core of Azcapa: Rose from 16 Ex last season to 72 Ex this season, a 4.5-fold increase, indicating strong player interest.
Soul Core of Tacati: Jumped from 1 Ex to 15.42 Ex, a 15-fold increase, suggesting its utility in endgame content has grown significantly.
Moderate Increases for Most Soul Cores
Compared to last season's equivalent date (December 17, 2024), most Soul Cores have seen moderate price increases:
Soul Core of Jiquani, Citaqualotl, and Atmohua: Increased from 1 Ex to 7.89 Ex, 6.75 Ex, and 7 Ex, respectively, showing a 7- to 8-fold rise, likely due to meta shifts favoring their associated content.
Soul Core of Opiloti, Tzamoto, Xopec, and Quipolatl: All rose from 1 Ex to 5 Ex, a 5-fold increase, indicating steady demand.
Soul Core of Topotante: Went from 1 Ex to 4.67 Ex, a nearly 5-fold increase, reflecting growing interest.
Exceptions: Price Declines
Not all Soul Cores followed the upward trend compared to last season:
Soul Core of Zalatl: Dropped from 10 Ex last season to 5 Ex this season, a 50% decrease, possibly due to increased supply or reduced demand for its associated content.
Last Season's Context: Pre-Collapse Dynamics
Last season's data from December 17, 2024, before the 0.1.0e patch collapse, shows a highly uniform Soul Core market, with most cores priced at 1 Ex, except for Zalatl (10 Ex) and Azcapa (16 Ex equivalent). Compared to last season, this season's Soul Core market exhibits much greater price variation, with top-tier cores like Ticaba and Azcapa reaching 83 Ex and 72 Ex, respectively. This reflects GGG's economic adjustments, meta changes, and potentially tighter drop rates in the Dawn of the Hunt League.
Looking Ahead
As the Dawn of the Hunt League progresses, Soul Core prices will likely fluctuate based on the popularity of associated encounters and drop rates. High-value cores like Soul Core of Ticaba and Soul Core of Azcapa may remain expensive if demand persists, while more affordable cores like Topotante and Quipolatl could see increased trading volume. Compared to last season's uniform pricing, this season's market shows greater diversity, suggesting a dynamic and evolving economy.
