PoE2: Fastest Movement Speed Build

by        Game: Path of Exile 2 Guide        Tags: PoE2 Builds

Launching in Early Access on 6 December 2024, Path of Exile 2 challenges players to push the limits, including raw movement speed - a stat ripe for min-maxing in the game's revamped systems. This guide details a specialised build designed to achieve the game's highest recorded movement speed (7,446.4%), surpassing even Path of Exile 1 benchmarks such as 4,800%. Through the use of Evasion stacking, support synergies, and Trial of the Sea boosts, this method creates a Warrior capable of blazing through tight areas and provides a blueprint for speed enthusiasts to adapt or replicate.

The Speed Chase: Breaking Movement Limits

Speed Context: Movement speed in PoE 2 governs traversal and roll efficiency, and is limited only by equipment, skills, and buffs - there is no inherent cap.
Objective: Document the exact build - gear, passives, and party support - that achieves 7,446.4% movement speed, providing a replicable strategy for maximum speed.
Significance: Extreme speed excels in confined spaces (e.g. Trials) and outperforms teleport skills such as Temporalis (1,300% equivalent) for navigation, despite lacking combat utility.

Build breakdown and strategy: Crafting the fastest character

Core mechanics: Queen of the Forest Evasion Scaling
This build relies on Queen of the Forest armour, which provides a 1% movement speed increase for every 390 Evasion rate-flat movement speed mods (such as boots) don't apply. Stack Evasion through Gear: Mirrored Rings (via Candura's Touch, doubled with Involute Ingenuity), a shield, gloves, and a helm increase base speed from 7% (no evasion) to 264% with full gear. A Historic Jewel (Heroic Tragedy, seed 333 Songworthy) converts four Notables to Fire Dancer (40% evasion each), anointed via Spike Pit on the amulet, starting evasion at 4700 (58% chance to evade) ungeared.

Passive Tree: Converting Intelligence into Evasion
As a warrior, use Hulking Form (50% increased small passive effect) via Gemling Path to convert intelligence nodes via Black Scythe Training (1% evasion per 2 intelligence). Small nodes scale to 18-24% evasion; notables hit 100% increased evasion (from armour, if not hit recently) or 30% (post-roll). At 718 Intellect (5% more evasion from Dexterity nodes), evasion scales massively - jewel sockets prioritise evasion over movement speed (ignored by Queen).

Jewel optimisation: Ornate Amplification
Equip 18 perfect evasion jewels (nine doubled by 100% Adorned) - megalomaniac jewels add Fire Dancer notables. The last socketed jewel increases speed to 341% and increases the Queen's scaling. Wind Dancer (level 29) adds 22% more dodge per level (four levels), rocketing speed to 642% - roll speed reflects this in hideout tests.

Support synergies: Aura and Charge Buffs
An Aura support uses Defiance Banner (9% more Dodge base), charged to 50 Valour for 500% Aura effect, multiplied by 496% Aura effect from jewels - total Dodge boost exceeds 3x. A charge generator uses Profane Ritual (power charges), Resonance (converts to endurance), and Lonial Caris Gloves (splits charges) - charge infusion adds 18% more defence (including evasion) per endurance charge, boosting speed to 6,845% with suboptimal boots in initial tests.

Trial of the Sea boosts: Sanctum Scaling
In Trials (Sanctum equivalent), nine small relics (70% defence increase each) for a total of 630%, scaled to 819% with Enchanted Urn (30% relic effect). Lustrous Emptiness Blessing (50% evasion increase) stacks multiplicatively - combined with Banner and Charges, speed hits 7,446.4% in a cornered run with correct boots (26,000 evasion base). Level 93 caps this; level 100 could reach 2.68 million evasion (slight speed bump).

Execution tips: Precision and Limits
Trade equipment for support - banner placement needs to cover running zones (e.g. corners). Generate charges near corpses (at least three) - Profane Ritual lags at range. Test in the first room of Trials (1,386% base) - Escape layout suits longer runs over Gauntlet. Control falters at 7,446.4% - Camera struggles, but tight zones favour this over Temporalis' 1,300% teleport cap.

POE2's framework: Speed mechanics and the future

Movement Design: Evasion-to-speed via queen and layered multipliers (wind dancer, relics) allow for exponential scaling - no hard cap.
Dynamics support: Party buffs (Defiance, Charges) triple output - solo limits hover near 642%.
Crafting Horizon: Early Access lacks robust crafting - future updates may facilitate jewellery and gear tweaks to increase speed.

Speed Unleashed: A Movement Milestone

This Path of Exile 2 build hits 7,446.4% movement speed - Queen of the Forest, evasive gear, and trial buffs surpass PoE 1's 4,800% benchmark. From 264% base to 6,845% with support, then 7,446.4% perfected, it's a niche triumph for tight spaces. Replicate it with precision - your Warrior can blur through NEO's trials.
