Community Feedback & Game State
Day 5 of the Dawn of the Hunt league has brought significant updates from GGG, who conducted an
interview addressing player concerns and outlining upcoming optimizations. Following their Day 4 announcement about
adjusting Act 3 maps, GGG detailed specific changes to areas like The Drowned City and Utzaal, removing large dead ends to reduce backtracking and overall size. The Apex of Filth will see its spiral layout adjusted for a smaller footprint, while The Azak Bog becomes more rectangular to streamline boss access. Infested Barrens and Chimeral Wetlands are being tweaked to reduce navigation frustrations, and Jiquani's Machinarium and Sanctum will have extra Soul Cores to cut down search time. GGG also increased the timeout for areas with side zones to prevent resets after exploration, a common player complaint.
Beyond map changes,
GGG announced balance updates, including buffs to underperforming classes like the Sorceress (e.g., Arc now triggers lightning explosions, Ice Nova gets better freeze buildup) and Huntress (e.g., Spearfield duration and damage increased). The Warrior's Temper Weapon on Smith of Kitava now adds more empowerments, and the Ranger's Lightning Arrow sees a larger arc radius. A new Inhibitor support gem was introduced, though its damage scaling per charge was delayed. GGG also addressed the
Ritual exploit from Day 4, banning 301 accounts for abusing it and noting minimal economic impact outside those bans. Crafting improvements, such as new Artificer's Orbs and attribute runes, aim to ease early-game struggles, while endgame rare visibility on the minimap was added to reduce missed encounters. Finally, GGG is investigating monster speed issues, with targeted changes expected soon. On Reddit, players expressed relief, with one user stating, “GGG's Act 3 map fixes are a game-changer—finally less backtracking!” The ladders reflect top players adapting well, with Deadeye and Smith of Kitava leading across modes.
