PoE2 Boss Guide: Mastering Xesht, The Breach Boss

by        Game: Path of Exile 2 Guide        Tags: poe2 boss guide

Xesht, the Breach Boss in Path of Exile 2, awaits at the end of the Twisted Domain, accessible after collecting 300 breach splinters from areas level 75 and above. Here's how to tackle this formidable foe:

Preparation

Gear Recommendations:
Movement Speed: Aim for at least 30 movement speed to effectively navigate the various mechanics.
Freeze Immune Charm: Very useful for dealing with the chilling and freezing effects of Xesht's ice attacks.
Character Setup: If you have multiple characters, consider using one for the journey through the breach and another optimized for the boss fight itself.

Phase 1 Mechanics

Blue Hand (Lightning):
Xesht summons a blue hand that creates an expanding lightning bolt. You can dodge by moving into or out of the area where the hand appears, ensuring you're not in the path of the shockwave.
White Hand (Ice):
Ice projectiles are fired, which can chill or freeze. Evasion or block builds can tank this, but out-ranging or using a freeze immune charm are safer strategies.
Combined Attacks:
When both hands appear together, treat them as individual threats. Decide whether to dodge or outrange based on your build and positioning.
Hovering Hand:
A slow-moving hand chases you in the air, slamming down for massive damage after a purple telegraph. Dodge to the side of the hand, not toward its front, using the shadow for positioning cues.
Fire Orb:
An easy attack to dodge; just move away from where Xesht is facing when the orb appears above him.
Finger Gun:
Slow but mobile attack; circle around Xesht to avoid the projectiles. Use walls if necessary for line of sight, but staying close to deal damage is key.
Hand Wings:
Xesht poises for an attack with glowing purple shoulders, shooting out multiple AOE shots. Running circles around him is the best way to evade.
Burrowing:
Xesht goes underground, becoming invulnerable while chasing you. Avoid him when he's about to burrow into the ground, which will happen after he stops.

Phase 2 Mechanics

Transition:
At 50% health, Xesht stops, conjuring a purple portal for a safe damage window.
Portal Arms:
Arms emerge from portals around the arena, slamming down after a delay. Either run or time your dodge rolls. The frequency and speed of this attack increase with atlas difficulty.

General Tips

Health Scaling: Xesht starts with 6 million HP at difficulty 0 and scales up to 32 million at difficulty +4. Adjust your strategy based on the difficulty level.
Dodge Rolling: Master your dodge roll timing, especially for mechanics like the portal arms and the hovering hand slam.
Stay Mobile: Movement speed is your best friend, allowing you to dodge most of Xesht's attacks.
Prioritize Mechanics: When mechanics overlap, prioritize dodging the most immediate threat while still trying to deal damage.
