PoE 2: Tower Map Farming (Patch 0.1.1)

by        Game: Path of Exile 2 Guide        Tags: PoE 2 Tower Map Farming Guide

This guide explores the strategic benefits of farming through the tower maps in Path of Exile 2, following the updates in patch 0.1.1. It builds on previous insights into Delirium and Simulacrum, and shows how they can be combined to improve farming efficiency.

Major changes in patch 0.1.1

Tower Map Layouts: The post-patch layout overhaul of the Lost Tower maps makes them more monster dense and navigable, significantly increasing the potential for juiced farming.
Economic Impact: Unlike Path of Exile 1, where new strategies could flood the market, the requirement to complete four Simulacrums for Atlas passive points has increased the demand for Simulacrum shards, increasing their value.

Tower Map Strategies

Map Layouts
Spires of Desar, Alpine Ridge, Bluff, Mesa, and Sinking Spire: These maps now offer more monsters per area, increasing the effectiveness of map juicing.

Juicing Mechanics

Delirium

Instilling Waist Stones: Emotions such as Paranoia, Envy, or Disgust increase both monster density and the level of Delirium, which is critical for higher Simulacrum Shard drops.
Emotions hierarchy: Paranoia is premium, but Envy offers a cost-effective solution with higher Deliriousness per Emotion, suitable for lower inherent value maps.

Map Modifiers

Deliriousness vs. Quantity: While item quantity and rarity are generally good, Deliriousness is the primary focus for Simulacrum farming.
Card Tier: Higher tiers (14+, ideally 15 or 16) are more lucrative for shard drops, while lower tiers offer much less.

Efficient use of maps

Drop bad maps: Even maps with undesirable prefixes can be turned into farming gold with the right emotions, avoiding the need for costly rerolls.

Self-Sustainability
Cycle of Waist Stones: By infusing cards with emotions, you'll be more likely to drop valuable Waist Stones, which in turn will encourage more farming.

Tower and Atlas Setup
Set up towers: Use high Deliriousness cards to expand your atlas, but save your best cards for areas where you already have towers for maximum yield.

Additional Tips
Precursor tablets: Use these in towers to increase item drops and make each map run more rewarding.
Avoid Expedition: For this strategy, Expedition is less efficient and the focus shifts to mechanics that better synergize with Delirium.

Thank you for reading

Patch 0.1.1 has made tower farming, especially when combined with Delirium mechanics, a very viable and potentially profitable strategy in Path of Exile 2. This approach not only improves your loot, but also creates a sustainable farming loop. Players are encouraged to experiment with these mechanics to find what works best for their style of play, making farming sessions both rewarding and engaging.
Use these strategies to make the most of the new tower map layouts and Delirium synergies in PoE 2, and potentially transform your gameplay into a highly efficient and enjoyable experience.
