PoE 2: Sanctum Farming - Profit Guide

by        Game: Path of Exile 2 Guide        Tags: PoE 2 Sanctum Farming

After surviving over 200 Trial of the Sekhemas runs without a single Adornment Jewel drop, the decision was made to focus on Sanctum farming, which led to a new discovery for earning currency in Path of Exile 2. This comprehensive guide details the strategies, setups, and insights gleaned from days of Sanctum runs to help you speed through them while maximising your profits.

Why Farm Sanctum?

Varied loot: From magical relics that can be sold for 30 divine to a variety of valuable jewels, including the chase item Last Flame Relic, which is key to obtaining the coveted Temporalis.
Profit potential: Even without hitting the jackpot with items such as Temporalis, the farm provides a steady source of income through relics, jewels and other unique drops.

Farming strategies

Relic Hunting Strategy

Setup: Focus on relic quantity with:
100% Relic quantity from five relics, each increasing by 20%.
40% movement speed increase for faster clearing.
Resistance cap for survivability.
Merchant choices to maximise boon selection.
5% chance of double holy water for more currency to spend on boons.
Cost: This setup can be expensive, but the relics hold value for resale if needed. For players on a budget, aim for 100% relic quantity and supplement with movement speed and honour restoration.
Goal: Farm relics such as Desperate Alliance and Last Flame by making sure the boss drops multiple relics.

Against the Darkness Strategy

Setup: After collecting Desperate Alliance Vas Relics, switch to:
honour cap and additional trader choices for more blessing options.
Increased movement speed and chance for double Holy Water to speed through floors.
Reduced vendor prices to buy more Boons with less Holy Water.
Goal: Use the relic to increase the difficulty of the final boss for guaranteed drops such as the Against the Darkness Time-Lost Diamond.

Boon and Affliction Priority

Boon

Silver Tongue: Reduces vendor prices by 50%.
Rabbit's Foot: Significantly increases movement speed.
Enchanted Urn: Further increases the amount of relics.
Holy Water Boons: Increases Holy Water gains to provide more boons.

Afflictions to Avoid

Traditional Demand: Limits merchant choices to one.
50% higher vendor prices: Makes boons much more expensive.
Hungry Fangs: Dangerous to all builds due to Health, Mana and Energy Shield removal.

Additional tips

Gauntlet rooms: Use Frost Wall and Blink to bypass difficult Gauntlet rooms, especially if your build supports it.
Chest priority after the run: Focus on opening Spectrum, then Time Lost, followed by Royal Chests for the best loot opportunities.

Selling Strategy

Efficiency: Collect all relics in a quad stash tab, identify them in batches and sort them into categories based on desirability (e.g. movement speed, relic quantity). Use a pricing strategy to find the most valuable relics quickly.
Reforging: Use worthless relics at the reforging table to obtain potentially valuable ones.
