The Legacy of Phrecia event in Path of Exile 1 is just around the corner, kicking off today, 20 February 2025, and Grinding Gear Games (
GGG) has released some juicy last-minute details. From Ascendancy class tweaks to new item filter info, here's what you need to know to get ready for this wild month-long adventure.
Ascendancy class tweaks
GGG has tinkered with a few Ascendancy classes to spice things up. Here's the rundown:
Puppeteer: The Rotting Power Knot now stacks with the Baron's Helmet, increasing the power of its minions. If you're into necro vibes, this could be a sleeper hit.
Harbingers: Your Ascendancy summoned Harbingers can now coexist with those from uniques, and they've got snappier skill cooldowns. Channeling has been revamped - say goodbye to channeling bonuses, hello to 30% non-chaos damage bypassing energy shield, plus 20% max mana and 10% max health as extra ES. Tanky caster, anyone?
Herald: Damnation got a glow: 20% reduced damage per element you've been hit by recently, plus 20% of cold, fire, and lightning damage restored as health. It's a survivalist's dream for mixed damage chaos.
Scavenger: Cloak of Flame now switches 40% of all physical damage (not just hits) to fire, making it a stronger mitigation tool against DOTs.
Antiquarian: Exhibit 39: Whaletooth Bangle now increases the duration of the skill's effect by 1% for every 10 of its level. Stack this power and watch your buffs linger.
These tweaks open up new build paths, especially for Scavenger and Harbinger fans looking to push unconventional strategies.
Idol System: Quick Hits
The event's new endgame replaces the Atlas passive tree with Idols, and GGG's FAQ clears up a few things:
Drops: Idols will drop unidentified (apart from the usual exceptions), so get those ID scrolls ready.
Scaling: They do have item level based scaling, but it's a mystery - you'll have to figure it out for yourself.
Future:Idols won't stick around after the event, but they'll be filter-safe if they're deactivated later.
Expect Minor, Kamasan, Totemic, Noble, Burial and Conqueror Idols to appear - perfect for tailoring your farming grind.
Item filter preparation
GGG's handed the tool creators a JSON file for the passive skill tree (grab it from their news post), and item filters now support the Idol class. Whether you're hunting Essences or Raw Chaos, tweaking your filter for them will save you time sifting through loot.
