Path of Exile 2 benefits from Rarity Meta

by        Game: Path of Exile 2 Guide

In the ever-evolving world of Path of Exile 2, understanding and exploiting the current meta can greatly enhance your gameplay and profitability. One of the hottest trends at the moment is the rarity meta, where players are stacking as many 'found item rarities' as possible to increase their drop rates. This strategy isn't just for endgame players; anyone can benefit from it with the right approach. Here's how you can turn this meta into a profitable venture, tailored with insights from MMOJUGG's experience.

Understanding the Rarity Meta

The rarity meta revolves around players, particularly those in the endgame, who focus on builds that maximise the rarity of item drops. This can be achieved by using equipment such as gold rings, amulets, boots, and helmets that offer bonuses to item rarity. The idea is simple: more rarity equals more valuable drops, leading to faster gear progression and resource accumulation. Whether this meta is good or bad for the game's balance is up for debate, but for our purposes it's an opportunity.

Crafting for profit

An easy way to profit from this meta is through crafting. If you find items such as gold amulets with high rarity rolls, consider using an Orb of Alchemy to see what you get. For example, a gold amulet with a rarity roll of 18% could turn into something of considerable value if you are lucky. Here's a practical example:

Gold Amulet example: I found a gold amulet with a rarity roll of 17% after using an Orb of Alchemy. It wasn't the highest level, but the attributes made it valuable for future characters like a Templar or a Juggernaut.

The goal is to aim for items with a double or triple high rarity roll, which can fetch a good price on the market. A ring with 40-50% rarity in both prefix and suffix can be particularly lucrative.

Market opportunities

Outside of crafting, there's a significant market opportunity.Items such as the Soul Core of Azcapa are currently in high demand due to their ability to increase item rarity by an additional 10% per socket. With the rarity meta in full swing, the price of these items has skyrocketed. Recently, this item was selling for around 60-70 Exalted Orbs, but now it's listed at 309, showing the volatility of the market and the potential for profit.

Patience can be key when dealing with the market.Holding on to items such as the Soul Core of Azcapa, or even crafting materials, can result in substantial profits as demand increases.Keeping an eye on market trends, as I do for at least 4 hours a day, can give you an edge in knowing when to buy or sell.

Budget builds and efficiency

For those looking to get into the rarity meta without breaking the bank, consider crafting or buying equipment that balances rarity and utility.

A helmet with a 46% rarity increase, for example, may sacrifice some damage or resistance, but the increased drop rate may make up for it in the long run. Here's a tip:

Helmet Crafting: A helmet with 27% rarity in the prefix and 20% in the suffix can significantly increase your drops while still maintaining some defensive stats.

Always look for good deals on the market, focusing on items with a rarity above 20-30%.Combining these with Health or Resistance mods can make for a solid, budget-friendly build.
