Welcome to our guide to the new Artifacts introduced in Season 7 of New World. These artefacts offer unique perks and gameplay mechanics, providing players with new strategies to enhance their builds. Let's dive into the details of each artefact, exploring their potential uses and where to farm them.

Dorgot's Blade - The Burning Rapier

Farming Location:
Defeat Eph in the Mutated Empyrean Forge to obtain this rapier, which comes with the Lava Tip perk. This perk causes heavy melee attacks to cause a 10% burning effect for 5 seconds, stackable up to three times.
Perks:
Trenchant Strikes - Increases the damage of your melee attacks.
Refreshing Move - Reduces weapon cooldowns.
Analysis:
While not ideal for all melee builds due to its focus on heavy attacks, Dorgot's Blade shines when paired with a great sword. The synergy between the heavy attacks and the scorching effect can boost damage significantly. For those who prefer a mix of finesse and power, this could be a niche but powerful choice.

Shrapnel - The Bleeding Musket

Farming location:
Available from Outpost Rush (OPR) caches, Shrapnel introduces Shrapnel Shot, which causes 10% Bleeding for 10 seconds on critical hits, as well as Keenly Jagged for additional Bleeding damage.
Perks:
Vicious - Increases critical damage.
Analysis:
Shrapnel seems tailor-made for niche PvE scenarios where critical hits are common. Its effectiveness in PvP may be limited by the less desirable Vicious perk on muskets. However, for an INT build focused on ranged damage, combining it with a fire staff could provide some interesting bleed synergy, although it remains a very specialised choice.

Justice - Alchemist's Earring

Farming Location:
Rewarded from the Influence race reward caches, this earring provides an Alchemist's Ward that recharges your next healing potion after 20 hits.
Perks:
Empowering Toast - Increases strength.
Healing Heart - Heals 10% of maximum health with Heartrune abilities.
Analysis:
Justice offers a unique advantage with its potion recharge mechanic, making it potentially valuable in persistent combat scenarios. While the Healing Heart perk isn't highly favoured, the combination of perks makes this earring a solid choice for those looking to maximise their potion usage, especially in long fights.

Burninator - The Fire Staff

Farming location:
Defeat the Corrupted Leviathan to claim the Burninator with Burn Nation, which reduces direct damage by 33% but increases burning damage by 15% for 5 seconds, stackable up to five times.
Perks:
Keenly Jagged - Increases damage over time.
Refreshing Move - Useful for cooldown management.
Analysis:
Burninator could redefine fire staff builds, especially in PvE, where the focus on damage over time can be more beneficial than direct damage. While the initial damage reduction may be off-putting, the overall damage increase from burning suggests potential for high-end group content.

Aconite - The Poison Bow

Farming location:
Dropped by Viridulon the Rootbound in Reekwater, Aconite comes with Poison Affinity for increased damage against poisoned foes and Poison Tipped for applying poison on heavy attacks.
Perks:
Enchanted - Boosts magical properties.
Refreshing Move - Aids in combat fluidity.
Analysis:
Aconite's focus on poison may make it less appealing without a gem slot, but for players running poison-centric builds, it could fill a niche by increasing damage when combined with other poison-inducing equipment or abilities.

Otzi - The ice gauntlet

Farming location:
Available via the Season Pass at track level 20, Otzi enhances the Frozen Tomb and applies Frostbite, which slows and damages enemies.
Perks:
Vicious - Increases critical damage.
Refreshing Move - Keeps abilities flowing.
Analysis:
Otzi is highly situational, requiring players to abandon the safety of Ice Tomb for offensive gain. Its use may be limited to specific PvE scenarios or unique PvP strategies where the slow and extra damage can be capitalised on.

Heceta - The Staff of Life

Farming location:
Also available from the Season Pass at level 80, Heceta's Light Touch perk grants allies 30% damage absorption after casting abilities.
Perks:
Blessed - Increases healing efficiency.
Refreshing Move - Provides constant support.
Analysis:
Heceta stands out as potentially the best in the slot due to her strong damage absorption. It's likely to become a staple in group healing setups, offering significant protection as well as efficient healing.

Fracture - The Void Gauntlet

Farming Location:
Obtained from Darkness Events (Corruption Breaches), Fracture features Mending Rupture for increased healing and damage from Essence Rupture.
Perks:
Sharp - Increases critical strike chance.
Refreshing Move - Keeps gameplay dynamic.
Analysis:
Fracture is an interesting choice for spell-based Void Gauntlet builds, although its effectiveness may be niche due to the mechanics of Essence Rupture. The healing boost is significant, but may not proc under certain conditions, making it less universally appealing.
