Previously boasting a peak concurrent player count of 910,000 on Steam, the MMORPG masterpiece New World, produced by Amazon Games in 2021, has, after two years, welcomed its first expansion and, finally, the addition of mounts.
Many New World players were satisfied with the combat system while pioneering the new continent of Aeternum. However, gathering and life skills felt somewhat agricultural, and another significant issue was the vast map, leading to excessively long travel times on foot.
In the latest DLC expansion, 'Rise of the Angry Earth,' the game has finally introduced mounts such as horses, wolves, and lions. Players can explore new regions for colonization, and old regions will also experience the invasion and mutation of 'Elysian Wilds.' The level cap has been raised to 65, the highest equipment level is now 700, and there are changes like the addition of the new weapon 'War Hammer.'
However, for returning players, purchasing the 'Rise of the Angry Earth' DLC is necessary to enjoy mounts and the new revamped content.
Although it may not reach the peak concurrent player count of 910,000 as in its heyday, 'New World' has seen a resurgence in player interest with this update. It has reached a peak concurrent player count of 50,000 on Steam in recent days, and the base game is currently discounted by 60%. New players can also opt for the discounted 'Elysian Edition' priced at $100, which includes the base game and the expansion. Interested players may consider taking advantage of this offer.
