New World has seen significant updates recently, with a focus on balancing gameplay elements such as the Burninator DoT and introducing new content with the Coral Divide map. Here's everything you need to know about these changes and how they'll affect your gameplay.
Burninator Changes
Fix and Nerf: The Burninator has received both a fix and a nerf. The fix fixes an issue where new stacks would update all existing stacks, negating the effects of DoT reduction. Now this won't happen, making the DoT more manageable, especially against those with Vigor or DoT reduction abilities.
Damage Reduction: Damage per tick has been reduced from 15% to 10% for each of the five ticks, effectively reducing the total damage by a third. This is to balance the impact of Burninator in PvP, especially in Outpost Rush (OPR).
Coral Divide Map Event
Event Timing: The new Coral Divide map will be available from the 7th of February at 18:00 UTC until the 10th of February at 15:00 UTC. Inspired by player feedback, this map features a smaller, more strategic layout with fewer open areas for a more balanced PvP experience.
Rewards: Participants will receive daily rewards, including Season XP, Gathering XP and Weapon XP boosts.
Gold Cursed Coconut: One per day for completing a match, delivered during the Legacy of Crisis event. With the recent nerf to the drop rate from PvP islands, this event provides a much more efficient way to collect these valuable items for artefact upgrades.
Twitch drops
For those who enjoy watching streams, there's an opportunity to earn additional in-game items by watching 8 hours of New World content during the event. Rewards include Suspended Aoth, Dark Matter, Dipsomancy Butter, Banana Paste, Regeneration Serum, and skill boosts.
Community and Server Events
Siege of Sulfur: An unusual occurrence where the event started earlier in Australia due to server time discrepancies, highlighting potential issues or innovations in event rollouts.
Ban Lifts: Many character transfer bans have been lifted, although there are some worrying aspects to these decisions. More detailed discussions on this topic will be coming soon.
