1. New Best-in-Slot Gear Path and Upcoming Raid Content

Patch 7.1 introduces the Echoes of Vanadiel Alliance Raid series, beginning with Juno, The First Walk. For those looking for top-tier gear, this patch offers a new pathway to obtain item level 730 gear, currently the best-in-slot. Players completing raids and trials will collect tokens, allowing gear exchange to keep up with the game's latest power level without the grind of Savage-tier raids.

Another exciting addition is the Chaos Raid, launching on December 24 in Patch 7.15. This raid, designed for a 24-player group, can scale to 12 or more players, though the difficulty is balanced around 24. Rewards include exclusive mounts, minions, and a new path to the highest-tier gear. Furthermore, experienced players will earn bonus tokens to bring players, encourage community growth ,and help new players experience high-difficulty mechanics.

2. Futures Rewritten Ultimate Encounter

Futures Rewritten, the new Ultimate encounter set to release on November 26, follows a story inspired by alternate realities, where players face new takes on iconic bosses, including Mitron and Shiva. This encounter aims for a difficulty level between Dragonsong's Reprise and The Omega Protocol, offering top-tier challenge for dedicated raiders.

3. Expanded Tutorials and Duty Support for New Players

To ease new players into FFXIV's complex mechanics, Patch 7.1 expands Hall of the Novice with new challenges covering advanced mechanics. An encyclopedia of mechanics will accompany this, making it easier for players returning after a hiatus to catch up. Additionally, Duty Support now extends to dungeons outside the main story, increasing support for those preferring solo play.

4. PVP Overhaul: Changes to Hit Detection and New Map Paths

PvP will see a revamp in action responsiveness, making abilities like Warrior's "spin stun" align better with on-screen effects. Updates extend to frontline limit breaks, PvP skill adjustments, and minimap changes to Crystalline Conflict maps, adding more breakpoints and line-of-sight obstacles, especially on the Red Sands map. For the PvP-focused Crystalline Conflict, ranked matches will now be hosted on a single data center per region, with North America's ranked matches held on Primal.

5. Housing and Glamour Updates

Patch 7.1 brings new housing options, allowing players to mix interior styles from different housing wards, such as Lavender Beds and others. Players can also remove pillars inside houses and are expected to see further housing adjustments soon. Meanwhile, a new glamour feature lets players save complete sets of outfits in a single slot, simplifying character customization, especially for event-specific or level-one gear sets.

6. Quality-of-Life and Visual Updates

Quest Management: Players can view up to 10 quests at a time on their screen, improving quest tracking.
Movement Enhancements: Characters will tilt as they turn, adding a layer of visual fluidity to movements.
Graphical Improvements: Updates to character graphics continue, with players humorously requesting more detailed character models, especially for male Hrothgar.

7. New Glamour, Mounts, and Miscellaneous Features

Finally, the patch will include glamorous new outfits, including a Diabolos-themed set, alongside two new mounts: a “triangle” platform that collapses and a Cloud of Darkness transformation mount. Additional updates include Mahjong getting voiced commentary from Scions, giving it a new, interactive feel.

Patch 7.1 promises rich content, from intense battles to fresh ways to customize and explore FFXIV's world. Whether you're an Ultimate raider or a casual explorer, there's something in Crossroads for everyone..
