In version 7.05, we have continued to optimize the job experience based on player feedback from version 7.01. Our goal is to enhance gameplay and reassess overall damage balance. We adhere to the principle of "balancing by enhancing weaker jobs rather than nerfing stronger ones," resulting in a variety of adjustments. Specifically, for jobs like Samurai, Viper, and Black Mage that received significant feedback, we have adjusted their skill rotations.
Damage Balance Adjustments
Currently, the damage output of Pictomancer is higher than anticipated. Due to the longer casting times and lack of resurrection skills, Pictomancer's damage was intended to be on par with Black Mage, competing with melee DPS roles. However, there is a significant output gap between Pictomancer and Black Mage, so we have increased Black Mage's output. Additionally, to avoid large damage discrepancies between ranged magical DPS with resurrection abilities, certain ranged physical DPS, and Pictomancer and Black Mage, we have also increased the damage of these jobs.
For melee DPS, given their higher difficulty of sustained attack in high-difficulty content compared to ranged physical and magical DPS, we have increased their overall output.
We will continue to monitor balance based on whether ranged magical DPS have resurrection abilities and the balance between melee DPS and ranged DPS, making adjustments as necessary. Additionally, to improve the feel of certain displacement skills, we have shortened the lead time from pressing the skill to the character's actual movement.
Output adjustments are based on the above principles and will not be reiterated in the following job-specific notes.
Paladin
Increased skill potency to balance output within the tank role.
Dark Knight
Increased skill potency to balance output within the tank role.
Reduced the time from pressing "Shadow Dash" to the character's actual movement to improve the feel.
Gunbreaker
Reduced the lead time from pressing "Burst Strike" to the character's actual movement to improve the feel.
Monk, Reaper, Ninja, Samurai
Increased skill potency to balance output between melee DPS and ranged physical/magical DPS roles. See "Overall Adjustments" for more details.
Dragoon
Increased skill potency to balance output between melee DPS and ranged physical/magical DPS roles.
Reduced the lead time from pressing the new displacement skill "Glide" to the character's actual movement to improve the feel. See "Overall Adjustments" for more details.
Samurai
Based on player feedback, the "Meikyo Shisui" skill no longer grants the "Setsu-Gekka-Ka Preparation" status.
Modified to gain "Setsu-Gekka-Ka Preparation" status after learning the "Enhanced Iaijutsu" trait, usable with any Iaijutsu skill except "Tsubame-gaeshi."
Adjusted skill rotations for more flexibility, increasing the activation frequency of "Tsubame-gaeshi" and adjusting several skill potencies accordingly.
Despite individual skill potency reductions, overall damage has been increased.
Viper
Due to the unique combo system, player feedback indicated a higher difficulty in monitoring combos compared to other melee DPS jobs.
Changed the "Venomous Bite" and "Serpent Bite" debuff applied to enemies to a self-buff "Serpent's Fangs," allowing more freedom in using "Serpent Bite."
Increased skill potency to balance output between melee DPS and ranged physical/magical DPS roles. See "Overall Adjustments" for more details.
Machinist, Dancer
Increased skill potency to balance output between ranged physical DPS and ranged magical DPS roles.
Thaumaturge/Black Mage
Adjusted the "Ley Lines" skill effect for easier MP recovery and maintaining the "Umbral Ice" state outside of combat.
"Umbral Ice" state now allows the use of the "Paradox" skill.
Increased skill potency to balance output between ranged physical DPS and ranged magical DPS roles.
Summoner
Increased skill potency to balance output between ranged physical DPS and ranged magical DPS roles.
Red Mage
Extended the "Enhanced Scorch" state duration, allowing more time to utilize buff stacks without missing the "Prismatic Flash" preparation status.
Increased skill potency to balance output between ranged physical DPS and ranged magical DPS roles.
White Mage
Increased skill potency to balance output within the healer role.
Astrologian
Removed the shared cooldown for the three "Card" skills and corresponding card skills, allowing the use of two card skills within a single cooldown period.
