In the upcoming expansion, The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road, players will venture into the West Weald, fully utilize the new Inscription system, and investigate a new Daedric Prince reappearing in the world.
Announced during the recent 2024 global launch event, The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road will be available on June 3 for PC/Mac and June 18 for Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
This new chapter continues the storyline from the 2023 Necrom chapter. Additionally, the Scions of Ithelia dungeon DLC will be released on March 11 for PC/Mac and on March 26 for Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
Battle a Forgotten Daedric Prince
In Gold Road, players will investigate the Daedric Prince Ithelia, who has never appeared in the Elder Scrolls series before. You and your allies will uncover her followers' plots and protect the people of the West Weald from the chaos caused by her return. This storyline builds upon the narrative from the previous Necrom chapter but is accessible to all players, regardless of their previous adventures in Tamriel.
Explore the West Weald
The new chapter allows you to explore the West Weald, a region southwest of Cyrodiil, bordering Valenwood and the Gold Coast. Veteran Elder Scrolls players will recognize familiar locations such as the capital Skingrad, its vineyards, and various Bosmer ruins. Recently, the region has been troubled by unusual Daedric activity and startling changes, including the sudden appearance of magical forests on the Valenwood border.
The West Weald offers numerous challenges for adventurers, including unique quests, caves, public dungeons, and the new "Mirror Lake Invasions" world events, alongside a new 12-player PvE trial. All these activities provide exclusive rewards like new item sets, achievements, and collectibles.
Harness New Power with the Inscription System
The Gold Road chapter introduces the Inscription system, allowing you to collect and customize unique abilities known as "Codices." These Codices can be tailored to fit your playstyle by editing their primary, secondary, and tertiary effects. For instance, the "Leaping" Codex creates an area of effect attack and allows you to escape danger, which can be further modified to change its damage type, enhance synergy with your gear, or even provide healing or buffs to allies.
Inscription also delves into the ancient origins of magic in Tamriel. Through related quests, you can uncover the secrets of the first mage to wield magic and collect additional Codices and scripts.
Scions of Ithelia Dungeon DLC
Also announced was the Scions of Ithelia dungeon DLC, bringing two new dungeons, "Vowkeeper's Abyss" and "Madness Veil," for PvE adventures. Players will carry out the will of the Daedric Prince of curses and protect the mysterious stronghold of the Half-Daedra. These dungeons include unique quests, challenges, secrets, and rewards like new achievements, item sets, and collectibles. The DLC launches on March 11 for PC/Mac and March 26 for Xbox and PlayStation, available via the Crown Store or ESO Plus membership.
