Efficient PoE 2 Warrior Leveling Guide

by        Game: Path of Exile 2 Guide

Hello Exiles! Today we're going to dive into a solid strategy for leveling a Warrior in Path of Exile 2, focusing on the dual-wielding Giants' Blood build. It's not just about getting through the deeds, it's about dominating them with sheer power and efficiency. Let's take a look at the specifics of gearing, skill progression, and tweaking the passive tree.

Gearing Up

When you're starting out, your equipment strategy revolves around maximising damage and ensuring survivability:

Weapons: You'll want to dual-wield thanks to the Giants' Blood passive. Prioritise high physical damage, power to meet weapon requirements, and gem slots for your skills. If you're looking to get a head start without the hassle of searching for gear, our Warrior Starter leveling set will give you the right foundation to optimise your damage and survivability from the start.
Shield (optional for defence): If you decide to go defensive early on, look for shields with a high block chance, health, and resistances to keep you tanky.
Body armour, helmet, gloves: Focus on health, resistances and power. These pieces are crucial for your survivability and to meet equipment requirements.
Rings and amulets: Similar to your armour, prioritise Health, Resistances and Strength. Rings can also provide casting speed, which may seem odd for a warrior, but it helps with speed of skill use.
Boots: Movement speed is key here. Craft or find boots with the best movement speed you can get to keep your mobility high.

Skill progression

As you progress through the Acts, your skill set will evolve:

Early game (levels 1-20):
Rolling Slam: Your primary skill for movement and damage. Combine with Devastate to shatter enemy armour on heavy stuns and Overpower for increased stun build-up. This setup allows you to roll through enemies, stunning them and setting up for massive damage.
Bone Shatter: Use this as an AOE when enemies are low on health, unleashing a shockwave to clear out surrounding enemies.
Execute: Increases damage against enemies below a certain health threshold and works well with Bone Shatter.
Herald of Ash: A passive buff that ignites enemies around you when you overkill, adding a layer of AOE damage.
At this stage, your play style is to roll in packs, stun, and then finish with Bone Shatter or Execute, with Herald of Ash providing additional clear.

Mid-Game (Levels 20-40)
Leap Slam: Provides incredible mobility, allowing you to leap into or out of combat. Link with Holy Descent for healing on landing, Fist of War for a damage boost, and Momentum for increased damage after moving.
Infernal Scream: While not as central, it's useful in large groups for extra fire damage.
Here your strategy shifts to using Leap Slam for positioning and escape, setting up your attacks with Rolling Slam, and then capitalising on stunned or low health enemies with Bone Shatter or Execute.

Late game transition (level 40+):
Mace Strike: Basic attack to shatter enemy armour. Link with Demolisher for more armour-breaking, Splintering for additional armour-breaking physical damage, and Brutality for increased melee physical damage.
Sunder: Your go-to for massive AOE damage, especially effective after breaking armour. Link with Upheaval for extra hits, Brutality for more damage and Heavy Swing for even more melee damage.
At this point, your approach is to shatter enemy armour with Mace Strike and then unleash Sunder for devastating effect, especially against bosses.

Optimising the passive tree

Your passive skill tree should focus on Strength, Damage, and Survival:
Early Game: Start by picking up nodes that provide melee damage, Strength, and stun effects. Giants Blood is your priority to enable dual-wielding two-handers.
Mid-game: Continue to build strength, but now incorporate nodes that enhance two-handed weapon damage and armor break effects. Nodes such as Increased Stun and Two-Handed Weapon Damage are key.
Late game: As you progress, focus on nodes that increase damage against enemies with broken armour, such as Break, and those that increase your survivability through increased armour and health. Consider Mind Over Matter if you have the equipment to support it, as it will help you use your Health pool more effectively.
