Team Composition and Role Setup

Tanks: 2
Healers: 5 (adjustable, but 5 is ideal for early attempts)
DPS: Rest of the group, with six assigned specifically for flying mechanics
The encounter benefits from classes with interrupts and stuns on the ground, like Rogues, Warriors, and Death Knights. Healers should grab movement-enhancing buffs to increase healing effectiveness across the raid.

Phase 1: Ground Strategy

Phase 1 is the longest and most complex part of the encounter, demanding significant focus from your team on the ground and in the air.

Alysrazor's Fire Feathers
When Alysrazor takes off, she sheds 18-21 fiery feathers on the ground.
Buff from Feathers: Each feather provides increased movement speed and the ability to cast while moving. Collecting three feathers grants the ability to fly, essential for assigned “air DPS” to reach Alysrazor.
Feather Assignments: Designate six DPS to grab three feathers each and take to the skies. Extra feathers go to healers, enabling better mobility and healing throughput on the ground.

Ground Strategy Breakdown
Split Raid into West and East Sides: Assign one tank, 2-3 healers, and half of the remaining DPS to each side.

Manage Voracious Hatchlings:
Hatchling Spawn: Firehawks will swoop in and drop eggs, hatching into Voracious Hatchlings. These will imprint on the closest tank, granting them an unbreakable threat and a 1000% damage buff against the hatchling.

Hatchling Phases:
Satiated: Hatchlings start with this buff.
Hungry: After 10 seconds, this shifts to Hungry, causing them to potentially tantrum, dealing increased damage to the tank.
Tantrum: This makes hatchlings even more dangerous and requires immediate attention to prevent tank deaths.
Feeding Hatchlings: Tanks should drag hatchlings over fiery worms scattered around the area to feed them, restoring the Satiated buff, which reduces their damage.
Fiery Wormlings: Positioned around the room, these worms emit a fire-breathing cone. Tanks and melee DPS must avoid this AoE to reduce damage intake.

Night Elf Casters and Meteors:
Night Elf Casters periodically spawn, casting Fire Blast and Brush Fire. Prioritize interrupts on Fire Blast, as it deals heavy damage.
Meteor Mechanics: Meteors fall from the sky, targeting players on the ground. Destroy the meteor quickly to create a safe zone behind it, shielding the raid from Firestorm.

Dealing with Firestorm:
Every 90 seconds, Alysrazor casts Firestorm, blanketing the area in damaging fire. Hide behind the destroyed meteor to mitigate this damage.
Respawn Mechanics: Phase 1 repeats three times with two Firestorm casts in between.

Phase 1 Air Strategy (for Flyers)
Assigned flyers collect three feathers to gain the ability to fly up and DPS Alysrazor directly. Here's what air team players need to know:

Dodge Red Rings of Flame:
Alysrazor creates red rings of fire while flying. Passing through these rings refreshes your flight buff (30 seconds) and grants a stacking haste buff that greatly increases DPS output.
Hitting 25 stacks of this buff grants the Alysrazor Buff, which boosts crit by 75%.
Coordinated Movement: Flyers should stick together to avoid missing rings. Greediness can reduce the entire team's DPS.
Firestorm Coverage: Before Firestorm, descend and join the raid behind the meteor. Ensure your flight buff is refreshed just before landing.

Phase 2: Fiery Tornadoes

After three rounds of hatchling spawns and two Firestorms, Alysrazor transitions to Phase 2, the Fiery Tornado phase.

Fiery Tornadoes: Fiery tornadoes spawn around the room, moving in predictable paths. Dodge these to avoid lethal fire damage.
Red Rings: Occasionally, red rings may appear on the ground during this phase, enabling players to gain movement speed and a short buff. Grab them if possible without risking getting hit by a tornado.

Phase 3: Alysrazor's Collapse

At the end of Phase 2, Alysrazor collapses, marking the beginning of Phase 3. This phase is a burn phase focused on maximizing DPS and restoring mana.

Positioning: Stack near Alysrazor to boost DPS.
Mana Regeneration for Healers:
Alysrazor emits the Essence of the Green buff, which restores mana to players attacking her.
Healers should assist with DPS to replenish mana while keeping players topped off.

Interrupt Fiery Servants:
Two fiery adds spawn, attempting to reignite Alysrazor. Pull these to the raid and interrupt their cast.
Energy Mechanic: Alysrazor slowly regains energy, and when she reaches 50%, she starts emitting raid-wide fire damage.
Use Raid Cooldowns: Pop defensive cooldowns as her energy fills. At 100 energy, she ignites fully, dealing heavy damage to the raid and knocking everyone back.

Phase 4: The Final Rotation

Once Alysrazor reignites, the encounter resets, and Phase 1 begins again. However, with optimal DPS, your team should be able to kill her during the second rotation or shortly into it. Focus on handling the mechanics efficiently:

Manage Hatchlings and Fiery Worms as Before: Repeat Phase 1 mechanics, prioritizing interrupts, avoiding cone attacks, and handling Firestorm.
Continue Strong Coordination in the Air: Stick with your air team, maintaining buffs, and maximize DPS on Alysrazor.

FAQs

Q1: How many feathers do I need to start flying in Phase 1?
You'll need to pick up three feathers to gain the flying ability.

Q2: What should I do if I lose my flying buff mid-air?
Avoid this by refreshing your flight buff just before each Firestorm. You can land with the raid and re-enter the air afterward.

Q3: How can I handle the Voracious Hatchlings' tantrum?
Use defensive cooldowns during tantrum phases and drag the hatchling over a fiery worm to reset the buff to Satiated.

Q4: How do we handle Firestorm if the meteor dies too far away?
Assign ranged DPS to handle meteors early, keeping them in a central position to ensure everyone can reach it.

Q5: What's the best way to avoid the Fiery Tornadoes in Phase 2?
Stay alert to their movement patterns and stay mobile. Use any available movement buffs from the red rings if possible.

Q6: Do tanks need to swap for this fight?
Generally, tanks won't swap targets, as each tank is assigned to one of the hatchlings that spawn on opposite sides of the room.
