Riven Tides drops you into a split world along the Rust Belt coast. One side feels like a faded luxury resort with pools and high-rise hotels. Cross the dried riverbed and you're in gritty industrial yards full of cranes and shipping containers. It's a smaller map than some, yet the verticality makes every major spot feel bigger once you're inside.
The map unlocks after 20 raids. Once in, you get the usual mix plus new conditions like Beachcombing. Player traffic clusters around the big hotel early, but the real depth shows up when you start climbing and exploring the side areas.
Panorama Azzurro Hotel stands out as the obvious high-loot destination. Multi-story with balconies everywhere, a restaurant area, and rooftop access. You can parkour in and out from multiple angles, which helps when fights break out. The surrounding pool and tennis court add extra space, so it doesn't feel as cramped as some apartment buildings on other maps. Expect company here, though.
Further along the beach you hit the industrial side. Port Authority buildings offer dimly lit interiors with multiple levels—good for mid-tier loot and ambushes. Shredders and turrets spawn often, keeping things tense.
Wavebreaker and the open beach areas feel exposed. Shipwrecks provide the only real cover. Flying ARC types patrol heavily, so trials or quick resource runs work better than long stays. I find the contrast here interesting: beautiful from a distance, but punishing up close.
Stacking Yard is probably my favorite section. Cranes, stacked containers, and zip lines create a true vertical playground. You can overlook much of the map from the top. Loot hides in nooks throughout the 3D maze of crates. It's also home to the map's main puzzle.
Smaller spots like Customs House and Transfer Depot serve as solid rotation points or quiet gearing areas. The dried riverbed splits everything—great for harvesting moss and mushrooms, but a risky crossing if you're not paying attention.
This two-stage puzzle rewards coordination but can be done solo with patience.
First, hunt down four hidden buttons scattered around cranes, railings, stairs, and building edges. Press them all to open the initial loot room on the right platform. Good early weapons and keys often appear here.
For the second room, grab a battery (usually near containers), collect repair components like wires, and fix the lift. One player holds the button while another rides up with the battery. Deposit it back in the first room to unlock an external building with better loot.
The timing and movement create real vulnerability. Third parties or sudden ARC spawns can wipe your progress fast. Clearing the immediate area and planning quick parkour routes makes the biggest difference. Many players overlook how exposed the battery handoff feels until it happens mid-fight.
Beachcombing is the new map condition. Grab the Dockmaster's Detector (often through projects or loot) and scan along the seabed and northern beaches. Follow the audio cues—faster beeps mean you're close—then dig. Rewards vary, but it adds a nice break from pure combat. Pair it with squad cover or quieter times to avoid getting jumped.
Around the middle of the match, the ARC Turbine drops. It's a new large threat, bigger than some bosses but smaller than the heaviest ones. Unique movement and zap attacks make it feel fresh. Don't rush in undergeared. Squad play with armor-piercing weapons and grenades works best. High ground around the Stacking Yard gives solid angles while staying out of its effective range. Learning its patterns pays off quickly.
Hotel Panorama Azzurro: Highest loot density, heavy player traffic
Stacking Yard: Best vertical play + puzzle loot
Port Authority: Industrial interiors, consistent ARC spawns
Wavebreaker Beach: Exposed, good for events but risky
Customs House: Vertical tunnels, rotation friendly
Early game favors the hotel if you're confident in fights, or quieter industrial edges if you want to gear safely. Use parkour routes—balconies, zip lines, cranes—to rotate without running straight through the riverbed. Mobility gear like grapples shines here more than on flatter maps.
Loadouts should balance damage against ARC with movement tools. The map's compact size means matches move fast once fighting starts.
Finish 20 raids on any map. It then appears in your regular rotation.
Start with the Hotel for volume, then hit Stacking Yard for the puzzle rooms. Supplement with Beachcombing scans when the condition is active. Rotate using height to avoid unnecessary fights.
Clear the area first, activate the four buttons, then coordinate the battery lift. Solo is possible but slower—bring good movement tools and watch for interruptions.
Roughly halfway through the match. Gear up and group before it drops for the best success rate.
Yes, especially with the Detector equipped. It provides materials and variety without forcing full combat. Just stay alert on the open beach.
Smaller scale with much higher vertical density. The luxury-to-industrial shift and mid-match boss create a different pace that rewards adaptable positioning over pure brute force.
Riven Tides brings fresh vertical chaos and new activities that keep runs interesting. The mix of resort vibes and industrial grit works well once you learn the flow.
